    I have just sold my c5 a6 2.7T stg2+ and am currently on the hunt for my next audi.
    The 2.7T with decat and straight pipes has quite the sound, but the 4.2 is just intoxication.
    There is one for sale in my area with 150xxxkm on it.
    What are some questions to ask, problems to look for, and things to feel out during test drive. I have heard many nightmares, but hope someone can convince me!
    Also want to ask the reliabilty in comparison with the 2.7

    PLEASE search. This topic has been covered dozens of times. The main issues with the V8 are timing chain parts failing and cylinder scoring/oil consumption. Failed timing guides often reveal themselves with a rattle from the back of the engine on cold starts.

    The 2.7T is quite reliable when properly maintained and does not really have any significant failure points once you take care of the high mileage factory K03 turbos. You are best off visiting the C5 A6 or B5 S4 sections for questions pertaining to that engine.
