    Does AC dryer get hot?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I did an SRM inter cooler install today and in order to keep the AC dryer bouncing back into the IC I moved one of the AC hoses to the side of the dryer so it would pull it back. Does the dryer get hot? Will it melt a hose?

I am trying to go off memory, but isnt the dryer after the AC condenser? If so, I wouldn't think it would get that hot. As long as the hose isnt rubbing where it may wear its way through due to vibrations. Do you have a pic of how you are installing it? Is it different from the usual way when using the supplied relocation bracket, like this:

Okay, I thought I remembered you saying something like that.

Anyways, no part of the AC system will be hot enough to melt anything. If there is a blockage somewhere the part before the blockage will get hot but I doubt it will melt anything. You are good to go.

Filter/driers are after condensing units. Only time it is on the suction line would be because there was a previous compressor burnout and it is there for acid precaution. Standard procedure. And they do not run hot. Should be ambient temp under normal conditions. But...I don't know if these same standards apply to automobile hvac. Either way, drier should never run hot no matter what.

Compressor can get awfully hot, or at least in some applications (not necessarily cars).

Awesome thanks guys. What a complete PITA to install the SRMs on the passenger side (to do it right so it doesn't rub)

I did IT for 4 years. Basic stuff like small business installations, repairing and assembling workstations and what not, sometimes web design or surveillance systems. If you do coding or web design the money must be even sweeter. Even have that little stupid A+ certificate for what its worth, which is nothing haha. But you do not lie, anything in the field of IT is the future.

When I'm not on a contract my job will have me work on the physical side of IT like fix our broken laptops, reformat OSs, or whatever little job that hasn't been done since moving offices. And this is a very nice change of pace.

But for the majority of my time i program websites. I know what you are thinking, "you don't program websites". I am a developer for a not-so-popular software called oracle application express. It's built into the oracle database so it's all database SQL/PLsql. It is mainly used to rapidly create productivity web "applications". I was a web designer for many years and programming them is way funner than designing them. Oracle, for the most part, took the guesswork out of browser compatibility issues which makes my job so much easier.

My dick is bigger than yours ;)

I'm just messing around. Let's just change the subject back to b5's. Less room for argument and offense.
