Word!!^^^^ thats what I've always done.

You want 4th gear in the ZF8, not 3rd. 5th gear is ideal as that's the most load the engine sees.

If your willing to go 85mph on the streets in 3rd, why not go 98-100in 4th? Go out on the highway in the wee hours of the morning or find a good backroad, you'll be fine.

Be careful with logging values on the Allroad, there are a lot of parameters that are "decoys". I'll send you a screenshot of my saved parameters from GIAC so you can be certain you get real data.

Anyone know the stock cracking pressure of the wastegate on a K04 setup?

You can log it by unplugging the N75 electrical connection, then your car will only boost up to the wastegate cracking pressure. Somewhere around 6-12 psi.

So everything is up and running strong. I’ve been requested by a few to do some data logging and I’m willing. My question is what are the best practices and relevant information in doing so. I’ve read the APR guide and also the write up in the S4 forum, but will 3rd gear suffice or must it be 4th gear? How does one prevent from gear kickdown if starting at 1500 rpm, or am I starting at 3000 rpm (the two guides I’ve read are contradictory)? And are several runs needed to average out the results or would one pull suffice?

The pedal has a kickdown switch. If you press the pedal all the way in manual mode without the last like 1% of travel (you can feel it), it will not downshift

So I got back from deployment a month and a half ago and had my APR k04 installed before I got back. 5 days later I lost all compression in cylinder 1. After a month and a half, ill finally get the car back today. Lots of work done by IE & Etektuning in las vegas. ill follow up with a build list and everything as soon as I can. with the now built engine, I will most likely ditch the APR tune and get a custom one. That being said, the custom tuner has a dyno and I will also post those numbers as well.

On side note, the K04-R is installed on our shop B8 (6mt) and running great with APR K04 3.1 Software. Boost spikes and meets requested at 2400RPM and holds till redline, MAF GS hits 279, and N75 hits a low of 69% and at only 78% at redline.

Definitely some life left on the stock ihi's... We really need to see the " r turbo" to surpass these numbers!.. will we see it..???

I forgot to mention that I'm only running 19 psi peak boost tapering to 13.5. Requested is 22.5 tapering to 16.5......damn ginormous FMIC!!

A custom tuned k03 E85 on meth would push another 20whp/30wtq
