    So the problem started after the air filter was installed? That's like blaming the headlights for burning oil. In now way should an air filter cause any issues with blowby on the turbo.

    The oil in the air filter caused the MAF to be "dirty" that's why it was throwing the codes. I'm waiting for the stock airfilter and in the meantime I took the car for a ride and push the shiet out of it and no problem

    Air filter was installed a while ago, before the k04.
    On a different note....Funny thing is that I drove the car super aggressively the day before the issue took place, so I wonder if it's due to that or just a coincidence...
    Now the question is can a damage/dirty MAF cause a rough idle

    Maybe the turbo hose went loose, it happened to me, that bracket won't hold the hose with all the power. I then installed tclamp

    It would have to be disgusting dirty to cause any major issues. Sound like they are blaming it on causing an issue.

    VNA, it's interesting that you're having this issue with the aFe dry filter. I remember the day after I installed mine on the stock turbo, I had a HUGE hesitation when I floored it in the morning. I am not sure if the car/turbo was not warmed up, but I never once had it happen on the stock filter. What's also strange is, it's suppose to be a "DRY", so I wonder where the oil is coming from. Now above, you posted that you took it for another drive. Was the second time AFTER they shop cleaned the MAF?

    @Dub_prime 8 days and a wake up.

    I have a AFE dry on my car with no issues at all. May try a TBA and see if that helps? Would be pretty important to see how the oil got on the filter, which I would assume would be blow by from the turbo.

    I was running an AfE pro dry flow filter and eurocode silicone inlet pipe. After. My K04 install
    Never experienced anything like that. I went with the ECS full intake kit shortly after just because. I will say this, after the intake install, the turbo is so much louder. It may be louder than my exhaust. The flow sound is insane and the diverter valve quite loud now. Still running the stock diverter valve . I was shocked at how much the stock I take box muffles and mutes the turbo noise.

    Exactly. The turbo sucking and diverter blower off noise are beyond noticeable now. Wasn't going for either noise at all but I'm beyond happy with the end result. I know it has been mentioned before but I do not experience any of the annoying whistle or intake drone common with the K&N kit. The sound of the intake flows actually interesting.

    Just the other day I was at a light, windows half way down and went to take off from the light. 2 cars ahead of me to the right of me a guy has all 4 windows down. When we all accelerated the guy whipped his head around so fast and I saw him say "holy sh!t". For a 4cyl it def sounds very aggressive. Grabs quite a bit of attention. Again, wasn't going for that, only went with an intake to get the most possible out of the K04 upgrade. Def beyond pleased with the end result of everything.

    I got apr carbonio and I don't hear shlt, exhaust is so phuking loud now after I welded straight pipe as a downpipe, good thing about it is that I also don't hear my wife screaming when I floor it lmao

    You able to hear thanks to go pro and windows up but on windows down to can barely hear turbo, that downpipe is a monster sound lol, I'll post a video once a get the car back from bodyshop, (had to replace drivers door and some minot work on body, that Mc double with cheese my wife ate cost me 2k,

    What is the most up to date apr software for k04? Still on v2, was about to get my v3 update after finally installing the spark plugs.

    No update yet for b8.5 as far as I know, if any update comes soon it will be only to fix some issues

    Used APR KO4 kit has arrived! 2" heat wrap (for the HFC), 1" heat wrap (to try on the manifold), and some colder plugs are on the way. Trying hard to convince myself I don't need a W/M kit. Planning on just upgrading my APR software for $500 but seriously considering Maestro as well, seems like a lot more tunability for not a lot more $$.

    Now that I have my K04 in, I have the dreaded CEL. From my understanding, software can take care of the issue, but when it comes time to smog, it wont pass. A remedy has been to place an extender on the 2nd O2 sensor to "move" the tip away from the gas stream. This is suppose to get rid of the CEL and allow you to pass smog. Question is, does this really work? Which extenders are you guys running? An straight one, an angled one? My CEL has been on since the K04 went in last Friday and I HATE dash warnings.

    You've never driven a modified VW or Audi have you? CELs are life!

    I'm only stage 2, but I run a straight spacer on my Spulen HFC. I had it flashed to stock for a couple of days last week and the CEL never came on.

    I'm just someone reading through the thread, but do we have a section like the vag - com thread for people who want to get together and use the maestro suite?

    Call me lucky, but I've NEVER had a CEL come on when I had my MKV and A3, both were on APR Stage 2+.

    My mk4 gti had a CEL for the better part of 8 years but was always a disconnect the battery, wait a few mins, reconnect and drive for a little bit away from passing inspection

    My mk4 still has a CEL even with a stage 2 tune, it's the SAI right now...
