    HPFP Issues

    Hi All,

I made a previous post about a fuel smell I was noticing from my engine compartment and I finally traced it down to a leaking HPFP. It looks like a small amount of fuel is leaking from where the solenoid screws into the top of HPFP only when the engine is off for some reason. Has anyone had this issue before? I thought the HPFP on the newer 2.0 TFSI's were pretty sturdy compared to the old FSI's.

Unfortunately I will be out of pocket for this repair since im TD1 eventhough I have some CPO warranty left over. I wasn't going to fight with the dealer since a reasonable case can be made that my tune could cause the HPFP to fail. It pays to play!

Has your car been taking longer to crank/start than it used to? Would you mind posting pictures?

The car doesn't take any longer to crank and there are no codes. Here is a pic but it doesn't really do much since you can't see the little bit of gas around the solenoid. I'm going to replace the pump soon since I don't want to create a hazard with fuel in the engine compartment or have the pump fail on me completely.
