I went to the tunnel wash I always goto, and boom I got a nice crack right on my mounting points to the fender because it tried to rip my bumper off. What are my options I went and left my name and number at the wash.

Insurance, maybe explain to them the incident, they may take it up with the business, Businesses like that have insurance for issues like this also.

I don't know if they will do much for you because anyone could walk in there with that crack and claim their machine did that to their car. You are probably going to have to deal with insurance on that one i would think if the car wash doesn't do anything.

Ill bet there's some sort of camera in there? Maybe file a police report so they cant give a cop the run around as much as they would try to for you? I bet if you ask if there's cameras they'll say "oh sorry they weren't on that day" and get rid of the footage. Those people are sheisty. The LAST time I took an audi through a auto wash was 2011, in my b7a4. It let one of the jets sit on my drivers door for like 30 seconds and it ate through the paint. Total garbage. They refused to do shit and I just got a touch up pen, clear, and got to touching/wet sanding myself. Didnt turn out toooo bad.

I'm gonna guess most of those places probably have cameras these days. Getting footage that helps your case instead of theirs is probably going to be a challenge, though. Plus they usually have signs that say things like "not responsible for damage" etc.... not sure if that would always hold up, I'm guessing it wouldn't if the damage was proven to be caused by broken/neglected carwash equipment, but again that would be pretty difficult to do

Yes it was an automatic wash with brushes. I went and talked with the owner and he claimed that the cars old and the bumper is messed up. I said well my car wasn't like this before. He handed me a stack of 10 free washes... I think I just might take it to small claims court.

Free car washes for like maybe? Haha. I've had issues with my active headlights after a touchless wash.

Were you getting water inside your headlights? After a few car washes and bulbs I finally found the solution to the water inside headlights and so far no issues with bulbs or condensation inside.

Was it the o-rings on the adjustment rods? I changed those out due to the condensation issue and the stock ones were definitely shot. However, a couple months later, the condensation is back. Awesome.

Yes. I was getting water inside my headlights. And I filed an insurance claim at the time.

    Problem solved.

To bad the insurance company wouldn't pay for my broken plastic timing chain guide!!!!

You won't get anything from the carwash. They cover themselves totally. Your only path is to make an insurance claim and pay your deductible. Your rates should not go up if you have decent insurance as this is not a driving error.

I don't know how it works in the states, but I got screwed over two years ago in Canada.

I had the antenna piece ripped out by one of the rollers. I was given the run around by that specific car wash till I filed a claim with my insurance company. I also got their head office involved, and it has been two years and I still haven't been able to get my deductible back. Partly being the incompetent adjuster that I had to deal with as well.

I got a good payout from my insurance company and obviously 0% fault, so that's the only positive I took from it :)

There has to be a camera in there, but for the record, I never take my car to those carwashes because of this kind of incidents that seem to happen a lot more than people think.

My family took our 2004 Civic to the local car wash.
The machine on the drying cycle cracked the front windshield. They explain no responsibility, and sent her off. Insurance had to replace the front wind shield..beware
