Hello - 1st time Audi Owner - New to the Audi community

Hello - Just wanted to start off by thanking the community for all the assistance and guidance - I have been lurking around through these forums prior to purchasing a new to me:

2013 Audi S7 Black on Black - I will post a pic or two when I figure out how to.

No mods... at the moment. Just enjoying the vehicle as is for the moment.

Upcoming:
Front plate delete: Debating over the platinum grey filler panel or the full black optic grille
Tinting the Windows (Any recommendations for the SF bay area).

So far, all the widgets have been working except for the following (please assist with any suggestions):

1) Auto trunk open by waving foot underneath bumper...
2) The ambient light on the passenger door is out. Only the one located above the arm rest. All the other lights seem to be ok. My search in the forums suggest it may be a fuse... however... which fuse # would it be? I went through the manual and I was unable to locate which fuse# would be for the ambient light.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Congrats on getting an S7. Re 1 above, the gesture required to operate the trunk is like a kick. Make sure the key is in your hand or pocket, then swing your foot straight under the bumper (around the center) and back out the entry point again. Don't swing your foot sideways.

On my S6 I have to do a double kick for it to open the trunk. Dead center then double kick.

i read it is disabled in 2013. how do you enable it?

All 2016 prestige models have this feature. All you do is kick your foot under the bumper (I do it right around the center) and take it back. Pretty much like you kick a soccer ball to pass it to a player near you :-P

My 2016 RS7 does not have this function.

I don't know if it's ALL RS7, but was told mine doesn't because of the carbon fiber rear diffuser.

Welcome! And yeah, the trunk opener thing works about 50% of the time. Maybe it's me, maybe not. Either way, not worth the hassle, I just open with the release on the trunk.

Congrats OP. I'll definately need to try the foot kick trunk opener. I heard about it, but never tried it before.

I was told about the same thing that carbon fiber diffuser deletes trunk opening by foot feature...such a bummer but oh well...

My 16' a7 has the foot/trunk feature comes in super handy with children in my arms abd bags to put in. Oh yeah delete your account before you begin modding like crazy!!!!!!

When did the foot gesture, hands free trunk release start? I have a MY12 A6 Prestige and just tried with no luck.

Im not sure about this kicking the bumper thing... once upon a time I ran a loader in a really busy oilfield and had an expediter tell me one day that the guy before me used to open and close the pickup tailgates with his forks so none of the workers had to get out of their trucks. I was 18 at the time, and for about 3 months till I got it dialed in there wasnt a pickup in the fleet without a bunged up tailgate;) Of course, about the time I figured it out he finally admitted he'd never been able to talk anyone else into trying it actually;)

The foot movement trunk feature is definitely real, but I have found that it is very picky in terms of how and where you move your foot. It has been so inconsistent for me that I don't even bother anymore. I will deal with the monumentally burdensome act of pressing a button on my key fob.

To the OP....this car just begs to be modded. You can do so much to totally transform the car without major irreversible/difficult changes.
