Sensation/feedback in gas pedal!! Driving me nuts!!

Hey folks, so I need some help here wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I picked up an A7 preowned about 4 months ago. Started noticing over the last 2 months a weird sensation coming through the gas pedal. Had a nail in one tire and swapped it out thinking that was the issue, nope still there. I'm trying to narrow it down to what's causing it. My suspicious is of the following three...

    1. Conti tires 2 conti DWS(about 4K miles on them) in the front and conti dws06( about 300 miles on them) in the rear.

Could this be a thing with conti tires?

    2. I notice sometimes when I press of the gas a little harder from the speed that I'm coasting the sensation gets a little heavier. Could it be an engine issue causing the feeling?

    3. The obvious, different road surfaces(uneven, rocky etc...) is this a common issue with low profile 265/35/20 tires?

To describe the feeling is hard. It's like a tickling sensation. It isn't constant nor does it last long.

Of course the dealer couldn't duplicate it. And I don't want to keep paying to have them check it, and I sure as hell don't want to keep replacing tires if it's something else.

Also to note, a weird pop sound intermittently(maybe 3 times in the 4 months) comes from the engine bay almost like the knock you get when using the wrong gas. Wonder if it's related?

Any feedback, or help would be appreciated! Hopefully someone else has had the same issue, with resolution of course! Lol

Could be related to the different wear between the front and rear sets of tire. Maybe the Quattro system is being overworked since it thinks the fronts are slipping. Especially under hard acceleration.

The gas pedal is "fly by wire" so there is no mechanical linkage between the pedal and the engine. You may be picking up some body vibration, since the pedal is of course anchored to the floor pan.

Could be tracking or wheel balancing. Also, assuming you have the 3.0T model, the fuel injectors do make a ticking noise, but not in an obtrusive way.

The tires should not make a huge difference (other than a little road noise, but thats very subjective) - you have matched pairs on the axles, and none are high mileage. Have you checked the tread to see if you have a stone stuck in there?

Is their any vibration though the steering wheel when you accelerate?

Good point. But this was happening before the tire change. When I get the new set out on the old ones came in at 9/32 tread depth.

When I first took the car in back in January they balanced all 4 wheels and they were a little out of spec but was told that conti DWS don't road force the best on Audi? But after the rebalance and road force was done they were in spec. Then when the new tires were put on, all 4 were rebalanced again and came back in spec.

As far as the steering wheel, absolutely no vibration or anything in the steering wheel.

I haven't checked all the tires for rocks or anything that's a good point though and will take a look later today.

Maybe wheel balancing like jkwelsh is suggesting. Do you only get it at certain speeds?
