    Boost leak or????

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone have any idea on what to check on why my SC is boosting more than normal?

It's been creeping up the past month or two and hit the high score of 20psi and a yellow EPC light followed by limp mode. Normally it's around 18 or so, originally 17ish.

Car has been pulling like crazy though.

    Low DA, Cold temperatures???

I've seen my boost on the P3 (requested not actual as i'm tapped into the OBD2) but it would vary from mid ~15.5 to sometimes high ~16.7 however I dont remember ever seeing anything above 17... depending on the conditions, sometimes the car just rips though.

I'm tapped, so I'm not using the requested boost through odbII.

What's more concerning is that my car goes into limp... I like the extra speed haha.

You have to recalibrate it.. Should be back to normal then.
    Idk about limp mode though

Has this corresponded with ambient temps getting warmer?

    Boost leak or????

Not sure if related. It's 59 degrees right now. Went into EPC when it hit 20.1

For fun I put it to stock mode and I get a 10.6 high.

Also, any idea what I can log to see what's going on?

I pulled faults earlier, said cylinder shutdown and misfire on cylinder 3. I assume it's misfiring due to the shutdown (limp mode)

Well its one of 2 things. If your in stock mode and the boost value is correct for stock and it has an issue when in stage 2. Then you have a problem with software. But if you had the apr dealer reflash it and the problem is still there then I would thing you might have a bypass valve that's starting to stick. I am not sure how that's monitored. If its monitored just like a TB or not. You should be able to watch it and see if the ecm is commanding it open and see where it actually is and see if the values match or not. If they don't match then you need a bypass valve.

Looks like he switched to stock and boost levels are correct or is that not the case?

Yes I changed to the stock program and was able to run at around 10psi

It's really strange that it's acting up all of a sudden.

Well if you have Vag com or access to one. Just get that and a buddy and do some logging. And watch that bypass valve and see what its doing. If its not matching commanded then I would say that's an issue with the bypass valve. Or if it is then I would say something got corrupted and you will need to go back the apr dealer you got the tune and get them to put the software back in there fresh.
