Anyone hear of porting the blower on these cars? I've heard of cts-v and cobra guys going that route and freeing up a few horsepower.

I haven't run the car yet..It's still apart,I will really have to play with the amount that I spray to keep Temps down. But if I spray too much it will get boggy without a custom tune.I have reached out to a custom tuner and maybe going that route.

Considering the cost of parts/tuning and an exhaust that doesn't even make power, I disagree with your statement.

Anything that lowers boost pressure while maintaining or increasing air volume will make power by lowering intake air temps. Would love to see some one do it and log psi, iat, and gains on a dyno.

I'm very thrilled that someone is thinking outside the box for once in terms of modifications instead of waiting for a tuner to handle it on this platform.

N54 development was the same way, it didn't spark/grow until people realized that they can tinker with it and not wait for a big-box tuner (not to take anything away from their work) within certain parameters and keep it safe as the factory ECU has many safeguards to protect itself. As such, thats why the N54 platform sees more "stacked" tunes to solve any boost issues that I have ever seen, whereas this platform seems to fear it for some reason?

I'm guessing 2 days labor at a shop. The charger needs to be stripped apart and cleaned really really well before putting back together.Add the cost of the charger oil and needle bearing grease, gasket maker into the mix and it can get quite expensive quickly. It Also it really depends on how good the shop is at porting.

    Thanks Loe
I am excited to see what other stuff comes to the table with this platform.
I have also been playing with the 80mm hemi throttle body! There is some custom wiring involved with it,Mainly because the butterfly opens backwards from ours..Easy fix though.I found that the 2.7T hemi adapter plate works perfect for us and is a direct swap besides the 2 wires that have to be switched.

Nice! Something that I have been curious about myself, can't wait to see the results of that and dive into it if a full product w/ dyi instruction is released

I guess after you finish testing we'll find out if its worth it for the non dyi.
but I would imagine the more mods done to the car ( intake, headers, tune and exhaust.)
the more benefit it would have, right?

Just drilled and tapped the holes for the spray..for now I'm going to use some parts that I have laying around. If It works I will invest in some nice anodized fittings and braided lines.Charger is going back on tmrw!

There is no need to stack jb4's and flashes in the MEx and Simos ecu world as we have proper calibrators who can request whats needed in the factory coding.

S4Matty, you might want to reach out iAbed industries (Issam) on the TB, he is a master of all things larger in that department. GL with the meth I have high hopes for you but nothing pulls heat out better than a water to air.

Id be curious to know if a larger throttle body and intake would yield results. It appears (by looking at magnuson blower photos) that hte intake is larger and leads one to assume larger TB. Coming from a 1.8t i know they make 1.8t-vr6 adapters but I cannot find anything that is vr6 to larger other than this

id have to go back and reference tb sizes though as i dont know what the size of a 2.7T was

On this platform the dollar to horsepower ratio sucks a bag of dicks. 15-20whp from a ported blower and lower iat's for $1000 or less is the same or cheaper than stage 2 (upper pulley), which adds about the same power, but increases iat's.

kinda the point I was making, IMO $1000 for a shop to do this is not even close, I think it would be much more. especially the way s4matty is digging into his project.

    Thanks for the contact!
Also I do agree to some extent with your water to air statement.I never would have bothered with this project if the coolers were not damaged,Also water/meth can do wonders for dropping Iat Temps if the correct mixture, location to spray(location is key),When it starts spraying, how much to spray. If all of these are nailed,Then it has a pretty darn good chance of meeting or beating water to air..mainly when heat soak comes into play.Charger is back on the car and hooked up,I'm going to see if I can finish my new oversized crank pulley TN and do some logging.

I was wonder why you went down this path, worse case you pick up a used blower again. Keep us posted, very curious to see the results.

Gotcha. For just porting, you should be able to have a shop do it for $1k or less as long as you can remove/install the blower yourself. Pm if you need to be pointed in the right direction.

Sounds like a lucrative venture for a fellow member to take on and get a donor charger and pump them out one at a time on order for half that cost. 123 not it!

I did make it out to the track with that setup. Was terrible ran 12.7@106mph
There was too much heat, ran great until the 1/8 mile then started bypassing boost down to 8psi.I have since bought new intercoolers and plug welded the meth holes and went back to the track with my oversized crank pulley with chipwerke and ran [email protected] was spinning a lot of the line and terrible air quality. Going back Friday with new tires and hoping for better times.Im still running 91pump and the 2 meth nozzles.1 in intake tube and 1 in throttle body.

Nice run. What settings did you use on the CW?

My apr dealer has had my car since last friday trying to get the darn TCU tuned... Apparently they've never seen my part number before. Hoping I can make some passes this weekend...

It runs off boost pressure. The one in intake tube comes on at 8psi and one in the throttle body comes in at 15psi.I was getting Knox down low until I added the 2nd nozzle.

How were your IATs before and after? Was it easy to setup and worth it? I'm looking to do the same thing
