Well a couple things really played into my decision for the S5.
When I had GIAC on my B5 the turbos blew. I remember hearing less stories of APR blowing turbos. So I had it in my mind that APR was always the safer tune. (We all know B5 turbos were problematic anyway, but still)
The S5 at the time was only a couple months old and I didn't know I would only keep it for 11 months so I wanted to stay as reliable as possible.
I was one of the first people here to start modding that platform. AWE had asked me to be a test car for the stage 2 pulley on the 6 speed trans but the reward wasn't great enough for the risk. I love AWE and always will, but if I'm letting you test something that could potentially ruin my $60k car, the deal has to be sweeter than what I was offered.
Thinking back, I'm almost positive that the stage 2 upgrade for the B8.5 6 speed wasn't available to the public at the time I upgraded anyway.
Lastly, the shop that I always use is an APR dealer and they were able to flash through the OBD port in house while installing the pulley. Kinda made everything much easier for me.
As for the current S4. No pulley or tune for me this time around. I had it and I don't miss it. One thing I do miss is my AWE exhaust and that's going to happen within the next few months.
Wheels/tires I'm still on the fence about. For now I actually like how the stock peelers look.
I guess you could say ill be team OEM+ since I really doubt I'll go that crazy with this car. I don't plan on keeping it for longer than next year anyway.
