Tuned ECU Swap (H box to M box)

Ahhh, can you smell that? It's the first post smell. Nothing better than breaking in a new forum.

You know when you get a project car and you tell yourself all the things you aren't going to do? And then, shortly after, you find yourself doing those things? So, here I am.

I'm finding a potentially decent price on a GIAC tuned ECU for my S4. I have an H box. The guy is selling an M box. According to the interwebs, these two ECUs interchange, but require a slight tweak in vag-com. It looks like just one value needs to be adjusted.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Even more awesome would be someone in the Cincinnati, Ohio area with access to Vag-Com.

    Thanks new best friends!

H box and M box are interchangeable. They both use the hitachi maf. If you have access to a vagcom cable it's really easy.

Thanks. I saw all that info. Looks super simple, I'm just coming up empty on access to VAG-COM in my area. I'm relatively new here, and not really part of any car group.
