    Hey everyone
    I live in upstate ny, I have recently purchased a 09 a4 6 speed manual 2.0t.
Car is completely stock, and I'd like to have fun with it by adding some mods. I have done some research and I really just don't know where to go from just a tune. I'd really like a stage 2 tune, with a dp, and a intake. Then do a fmic setup.
Everyone seems to like certain company's over others, but being I live in upstate ny I'd really like to find a shop that can tune it and do the work close to me. I work way to much to tinker on my own vehicles anymore. This is not my first German car, but it will be my first one I mod.
So can anyone steer my in the right direction for what i am after? I mean intake and fmic I can do, but the dp and tune I don't have time for. The car will be daily driven by my wife, so I don't want a full exhaust that has drone etc.

    Any help would be apprecaited.

    My thoughts are this

Order tune and dp from same company

Injen intake(or would a drop in filter and turbo mouthpiece be better?)

And I have no idea about what fmic to get.

most of what you are looking to do comes down to personal preference and budget but also how far and what direction you plan on taking the project so to speak. As far as a shop goes you might what to try and ask that question in your local regional forums as that should net you the most results!

Only do an intake if your looking for really loud turbo noise, other wise just a k&n drop in and a euro code/other brand ect... turbo inlet tube to make the stock intake box shine. the Audi intake is the best in my opinion, if someone disagrees, skool me.

btw congrats on the purchase mang!

Turbo noise isn't a need for me. I have my 700 plus diesel trucks for that. Just fun car done right, and reliable

at first i did the intakes because i thought it would improve my acceleration and i didnt know any better, so i had a carbano on for a while and don't get me wrong i turned heads but then a fella gave me a eurocode tube and i slapped my old box back on with a drop in and bamm, i found the increase i was looking for.. plus i have the apr stage 1 so it keeps me content. get the tune or you'll get bored btw.

Yeah no need for an intake if you don't want more noise; save the couple hundred bucks and just get an aFe drop-in dry filter. Go with a HFC and a stage 2 tune and you'll get a bunch of power and a bit more extra noise without buying a full exhaust.

    question about stage 2,

is there any way around the cel if i do hfc and also are their any problems that come with the stage 2? i remember reading something that this guy posted saying that your car is going to have so many problems because of the tune. so id like your input.

    cheers!

Stage 2 (at least with APR, I believe others are similar) codes out the secondary O2 sensor and prevents it from reading and throwing a CEL. An O2 sensor spacer SHOULD solve this issue, but YMMV with getting it through inspection/emissions after you take it out of stage 2 mode. This is the reason why I'm only stage 1.

awesome, i actually meant to say apr down pipe instead of the hfc lol, but i just did some research on that and i'm showing no codes from the downpipe, and im pretty sure those are the minimum requirements for stage II.

I was thinking of the stage 2 from apr since they sell the tune with the recommended dp. I'll Def look into a drop in filter and a eurocode tube. Then I'll get a bigger intercooler setup. Me and the wife don't drive aggressive(boosted launch/drop clutch etc) so the stock cluck should last awhile. Im the type that if something breaks I upgrade it anyway.
I'm sure I'll be back for a turbo upgrade etc.

Really apprecaite the real life input. I know this gets asked alot but I don't have time to research like I used to. That and no one does a thread on how good something is, just the bad or issues

Make sure your 09 has all the oil consumption and piston ring issues squared away first....

The previous owner had everything done, new motor, and updated timing chain tensioner etc. Have reciepts. I am still learning what else to look for. I know cam followers on my b7 were always going bad, aswell as cam chain tensioners. But this new setup I am still doing research on this timing chain and anything else that needs attention. I'm doing the alternator pulley this week. It's the prestige edition so I had the led's etc headlights.
