    P0089 and P0722 code on an 05 2.0t w/ CVT

I have an 05 2.0T FWD, and the code recently came on after a series of fuel pressure code. The first time I had a fuel pressure code come up, the car stutter and sputtered at acceleration, and I ended up having the high pressure pump replaced. The car ran fine for a few minutes, before the P0089 fuel pressure code came up. I replaced the fuel filter and it went away temporarily. The shop that did my HPFP says the low pressure pump is working fine, they don't think the LPFP is the issue.

For the fuel problem I've narrowed it down to the fuel thrust sensor, and I'm wondering if it's worth replacing and would it have impact on the P0722 code. The car has almost 150k miles on it, and the cost to replace the TCM, if it is the speed sensor problem, seems to be about half the value of the car. If that's the case it might be worth it for me to part out the car instead. I've replaced the timing chain about 20k miles, but the car will need new tires soon as well.

My biggest dilemma is the car drives fine, but these codes are starting to become reoccurring. So I would imagine the P0722 could mean the speed sensor in the TCM failed, and should send it into limp mode if it is a problem right? However, the car drives absolutely normal without a hitch. Any suggestions?

    Here's what I found on the P0089:

    Possible causes
    - Faulty fuel pump
    - Fuel line restricted
    - Faulty fuel pressure sensor
    - Fuel pressure sensor harness is open or shorted
    - Fuel pressure sensor electrical circuit poor connection
    - Faulty fuel pressure regulator

    Here's what I found on P0722:

    Possible causes
    - Faulty Speed Sensor
    - Speed Sensor harness is open or shorted
    - Speed Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

    When is the code detected?
The output shaft speed sensor failed to provide a signal to the TCM upon initial movement of vehicle.
    Possible symptoms
    - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
    - Speedometer improper reading
    - Possible shifting problems

I think it is worth logging some measuring blocks to see what it is that is actually failing.
