    Audi allroad head light basics

My 2002 allroad has xenon headlights.

I am not sure whether I have an issue with my headlights and I am hoping someone can provide clarification for me.

LOW BEAM Only the outer xenon lights are lit?
HIGH BEAM The outer xenon lights and the inner halogen bulbs are lit?

I presume the halogen bulbs have only one element if they only used on high beam.

The park and signal bulb part no N0177532 is blown on my car. Has anyone tried using an L.E.D. bulb at this location?

    Thanks.

You're correct, the inner halogen is the high beam, the HID on the allroad is only the low beam.

Can't answer about the LED except some people here have done it.

led bulbs will cause hyperflash and dash warnings unless you use resistors to replicate filament bulbs. you can use them in the side signals and backup without issue.

Would there be any way of using the vagcom to remove the bulb warnings, essentially programming the error out?
I have a rosstech vcds HEX-USB+CAN Interface and cam lock bar to rent with deposit in the Charlotte area. Like all C5 owners I am looking for local parts!

no. This is not possible. Nobody has actually figured out the programming / signals of the warning errors. The closest anyone has come is in this thread here from the B6 forum:
    Disabling-light-bulb-failure-error-by-modding-ECU-firmware
Slightly different setup since the B6 has a central electrics and convenience module that handle some of that stuff, but basics are the same. It has some good info on how the bulb warning system works.

wiring in resistors isn't really that bad if you are good with a solder iron

I have an aftermarket set of Depo lights on my a6 (oem was bi-xenon, depo is xenon low, halo high) and I'm perfectly satisfied with them, but I've been looking at some aftermarket halogen sets (because I'm dumb) and wiring them with LED bulbs instead and load resistors don't really seem like a big deal (if I'm understanding the wiring diagram right, and i think I am)

For what it's worth, I have LED fogs (h7 bulb) and they were just plug and play, no flickering, no warnings, nothing.
