S5 family... Wheels and tires discussion...

So, looking at wheels. Was heart set on Vorsteiner 103s, but sounds like they are 12-14 months out on getting me these wheels in the Mystic Black I want...

Been looking at the following wheels in 20x10 (10.5 BBS):

-Vossen VFS1
-BBS CH-R
-Avant Garde M510 or 580

I'm leaning towards the Vossen wheels in the Matte Grey colorway.

But then there are tires... Was doing the 275/30/20 everyone seems to prefer on these size wheels all the way around. But, I currently have the Michelin Pilot SS on my OEM 19s and LOVE them. But, I am not tracking, not really pushing the car to any real limits and want something that isn't going to be a pencil eraser and wear out within a year. So, I have about three choices I was looking at and seems site sponsors can find/get.

-Michelin Pilot SS (Seems limited to not available)
-Pirelli P-Zero (mixed reviews it seems)
-Hankook (Not sure on this brand outside truck tires)

So, anyone have an S5 or RS5 with a similar setup? Vossen with Hankook let's say?

There's a seller with the BBS wheels for sale and he's making me a stooooopid deal and I really want them, but I need to sell my wheels to pull it off. But, a site sponsor has a killer deal on the Vorts, but they only have the grey which I am leaning towards, but prefer that wheel in black. I'm such a chick when it comes to deciding on wheels and tires!!!

Pick up those satin black CH-Rs in the classifieds! That's such a good deal.

As far as tires go seems like a lot of people here are fans of the Michelins. I haven't seen a whole lot of people on this forum running the Hankook Ventus V12s but from my own research they seem to offer great value for your money. Some people may stick their nose up to them but since I don't track my car they would probably be my choice for my next set of tires.

That's what I am trying for! He's KILLIN me (in a really good way) with the proposition he is making.

I am a OEM+ type of guy. I originally wanted the RS5 rotors. But I do have a fond liking to the AG 580. Matthew has a nice A5 with the 580's he made a little slow motion rolling vid to my request. They look nice for the price they are.

Depends how much you want to spend and budget. If money's no big deal there's always HRE, the real AG's lol.

I don't know what quote you recieved on the CH-R's, but if you really want 103's you should go for it. They cost $2,600 max. Powder coat them whatever black you want. For a new, clean, unmounted wheel you should not pay more than $150 per wheel (the high end.) $3,200 all in.

The PSS are great on the street, but not necessary if you are not pushing your car. V12's should be fine. Save your money there if performance is less of a priority. Also, consider 285s. They have a nice wide look and will always come with a taller sidewall. Taller is more confortable. (but I don't suggest this size for the track.)

not sure how much snow columbus OH gets (i imagine an decent amount) you can always keep your oem set for snow tires, rather than having to remount every season

I wish you would quit posting these pictures. That is absolutely my favorite look, but I'm trying not to spend any money right now. You are making it impossible. What is really going to make it bad is I'll need 2 sets. 19X10 for the track and 20X10 for the street. ugh. I'm going to be so broke.

They seem to be getting them in monthly shipments and selling out pretty quickly. Make sure to actually call or use their online chat to confirm the availability date. Their website is often not up to date with the PSS dates at least.

As another point of reference. I just got the M580s with same wheel/tire specs you're looking at. The finish worked out really well, too.
