    Check the Vag-com thread I think you can change a setting to do that.

    It's pretty nice although I should say some other forums are pretty nasty when it comes to this, bitching saying it's unsafe and why would you do it.

    I am a bit lost on this thread and would like to unlock the playback as well. I have a 2014 and not sure what gen. MMI system I have and still after reviewing the threads cannot tell if you need anything or not-meaning do I need anything external or can it be done through the system alone.

    Check out the last few posts on my build thread. I just did mine this weekend. You need a VAG-COM cable.

    I also have VIM enabled, but hardly use it. I feel like it's a ticket waiting to happen, especially when using at night.

    Has anyone here (or do you know anyone who has) been pulled over for this? I'm assuming it's like a texting while driving ticket.

    I'm not sure why you guys are so against this. If you're playing this for yourself to watch while driving, you're a dumb ass! It's activated so others in the car can watch and not the driver, so if you can't stop looking at it while you're driving you might want to go grab some ADD meds...

    How could they posssibly prove it tell you to drive and watch it?

    Not against it, just asking if anyone has been pulled over for having it playing while driving.

    Haven't read about the other states, but here in California, it's a violation, whether watching it or not:

    Law: Prohibits any person from driving a motor vehicle if a video monitor, or a video screen or any other similar device that displays a video signal is operating and is located forward of the driver's seat or is visible to the driver. Provides exceptions for emergency equipment.
    Statute: California Vehicle Code §2890 (West 2004)
    Penalties: No Penalty Specified.
