    Remote Lock Woes

Well I hate to have to start a thread on this but at this point I'm at a loss.
Did a search and this hasn't come up so here we go...

Since I bought my 05 last year the key remote hasn't worked. The previous owner said it just needed to be reprogrammed but I've had no such luck. The locks function fine using the interior buttons or using the key in the driver's door. All other comfort module functions seem to be working fine. Tried new batteries, the few different key-and-button-press combos i've seen, and re-syncing with vag-com.

Today I tried another key I grabbed off Ebay and still no luck. I went into measuring block 006 where you're supposed to see if the remote is communicating in block 3, and instead of "0000" mine says "Not Oper."

I checked the faults on the module and got this:
    4 Faults Found:

    01134 - Alarm Horn (H12)
    49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent
01616 - Signal Wire to Interior Monitor
    49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent
01369 - Alarm triggered by Hood Switch ----- this one strikes me as odd because the alarm has not gone off ever since owning the car and i've cleared the codes recently
    35-00 - -
    01560 - Passenger Door
59-10 - Can't Unlock - Intermittent - Also strikes me as odd but I think this one is from the gf trying to open the door before it gets a chance to unlock.

The coding for the module is set to 11788.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I miss remote locks and have caught myself a few times trying to use the key to manually unlock my Mustang because I'm so used to it >_>

I had this same issue but mine was due to the antenna booster not being installed when I purchased the car. The PO had mocked up some crappy antenna booster but it did not provide a signal for the FOB. After installing an OEM antenna booster, the problem was fixed.

Not sure if this is your same issue but may be worth a check.

Did yours indicate that the lock system was not operating in VCDS?

At the time, I didnt have VCDS so I cannot answer that.

Checking the antenna booster takes a couple seconds to do. Pull down the after upper panel above the rear seats and verify that its installed and plugged in.

Again, Im not sure if this is your issue but it sounds very similar to mine.

I'll have to check that out. If that's what it is I'll have to wait for a used one to pop up cheap. Remote locks aren't worth $300 to me :/

I definitely didnt buy new. I got a hold of larry_fopps who was parting out an A4 and bought it off of him. There are plenty of cars being parted out in the Classifieds section.

Also, after fixing the antenna booster, I did get VCDS and ran the codes. This is what I got for that module.
