    Yet another MMI update thread

I have searched and search for the subject and I think I have read virtually all the MMI update forums, but I am having an unusual problem. I updated to the most current version (Model 2012 Q7 Prem plus 3G MMI) mainly because I thought it would correct some inconsistencies in the way it handled iPhone 6S+answering via bluetooth. The dealer did the update from SD card for $158 - shocking because I have heard as high as $450 for the labor. It took about 4 hours along with the $45k service.

My phone issue was not corrected (another subject) although it works as well as it did pre-update. There were some menu updates with added items and the "online" icon has been replaced with "Audi Connect" 3G connectivity is as stable as ever.

    The issues are as follows:

    1. In handsfree mode the speakerphone sound now comes from the entire left side of the car instead of concentrated on the few speakers around the driver as before - it works fine, just different but annoys rear seat riders.
    2. The sound quality of digital radio has degraded to highly colored digital sound of Sirius. The highs are colored by compression far more than they were before. I do not listen to radio much, but my kids do it so is surprising because the system was very robust before and sounded much better on radio before. Digital sources such as MP3, CD, and internet radio (via bluetooth sound about the same).
    3. The max volume for all sources has been limited for some reason - in other words I cant turn it up as loud as before, probably a reduction over prior max of 20% if I had to guess. Beofre all sources could be played at very high volume with no distortion and non-excessive subwoofer excursion.
    4. The tone control menu has changed and unless i am missing something, it does not allow you to change settings for different sources as before. It seems to require a one-size-fits-all setting that is good for some sources but not (like radio) for others.
    5. Also in the tone menu as Bose DSP dial that let's you set signal processing from min to max and focus surround sound sound to different parts of the car. While I have not tried a surround sound encoded DVD, it seems to only apply to that medium which makes sense, but there is some digital signal processing on the radio medium and and I cannot find settings for it or to turn it off (seems to be the source of the coloration noise for radio).

Do some of these irritations have adjustable parameters via the VAG COM system? I am interested in getting one but I have only read about it at this point. I will post photos below of the various screen changes I experienced. There are a few changes more but inconsequential.

    Look forward to your input!

I didn't get much (or any) in the way of responses to this thread but I was able to figure it out so, in the spirit of helping my fellow Audi nut, I will tell you the resolution. To make a long story short, it was a data corruption issue. There was no hardware damage or anything like that, but it looks like the dealer failed to finalize the firmware update with a final step resulting in the little gremlins I was experiencing. I had a number of conversations to describe and diagnose the problem, but they were convinced that the MMI was operating as normal and my expectations were too high. It was only evident after I replaced a bumper tail light causing an error code eliciting a scan by a neighborhood shop where the diagnostic steps showed multiple faults to a number of MMI modules. At that point I had a case for the dealership to take a deeper dive into the issues. 24 hours with a A3 TDI (fun little ride) loaner and we were all squared away at no additional cost. The MMI upgrade is amazing now that functionality is complete. Much better dynamic range for media, tremendous power, greater compatibility with iPhone 6+ and a number of little extra goodies that new software brings. My situation my have been rare but hopefully this resolution helps in the event someone else has experienced similar.
