Torque plate questions

For those that have built your engine. Did you use a torque plate? Do you have oil consumption issues?

Yes and yes, but they are likely unrelated.

If you are going through the work to build your engine I would make sure a torque plate is used.

I wouldn't bother if you are just ball honing and using stock diameter pistons. Definitely use it if you are boring the block though.

Yeah, it's being bored to 83mm and the machinest I just went to see told me he doesn't think I need to even though I told him I already had a rental lined up. Everything else about the place seemed good but now I was skeptical cause he didn't want to use it even though I told him I already was getting it.
