Oil consumpion + tune = worse?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My 2010 A4 is at 110k and its been running great, only problem is it burns oil which is a obvious common problem among these cars. My question is will the tune increase my oil consumption even more? Im adding a quart every 2k miles and im worried that tuning it will make the car chug oil. has anyone that tuned their a4 increased consumption? if so is it even worth doing?

I added the GIAC tune in January and haven't noticed any additional oil consumption on my 2011 A4 avant.

I have APR stage II on my 2011 A4 and the consumption is basically the same as before the tune.

have you tried to get AOA to pay for the oil consumption yet? If it hasnt been in for the stage 1 repair they will cover the charges even if it is over 100K miles

My buddy just had his 10 in for stage 2 oil consumption with 95k on the clock. Had everything repaired for free and a free loaner for a week.

I would encourage you to take it in to the dealer and let them know you'd like stage 1 oil consumption repairs to be performed. Ask around in your regional subforum to see if you can find any dealers that have worked with people in spite of being over the 80,000 mile mark.

Also, it is good to hear that your 2010 is running great at 110k miles. I'm currently at 93k with no issues whatsoever, running smoothly as ever. I do have APR Stage 2 and a few other add ons to make the ride run smoother too. (ECS silicone turbo inlet hose, Eurocode high flow intercooler pipe, aFe Pro Dry S Filter)

By the way, the tune has not affected my oil consumption. I did get my engine rebuilt through the extended warranty at 88k miles and that fixed the oil consumption issue.
