JR Auto Tuning TDI Tune

Does anyone have the JR Auto Tuning TDI tune? I'm trying to decide between it and the Malone Tune.

JR Auto Tune stage 2
It's supposed to be 60 HP and 80 ft lbs tq with the stock exhaust. With the delete it's 80 and 100

You can remove an APR tune too, by having the original tuner flash your vehicle's ECU back to its stock programing. Also, APR states that their 3.0 TDI tune adds 73 hp and 73 tq without a DPF delete. I don't have a tune yet, but APR's numbers are certainly impressive, especially for not having to delete the DPF.


If you end up going with a JR tune, please let us know how it turns out.

The closest APR tuner is about 200 miles away. I'm sure there's a labor fee for flashing it too.

Pls do tell!!! I'm afraid with tuned TDi it increases Diesel chatter, no????

I drove it about 6 miles so far. There's no increased chatter and it's very smooth. It feels like a stock tune, but with more power. I'm currently running a stage 2 test file, but have the stage 2 file as well. I'm going to change the tune after a few days to see if I notice any difference. When I had the Chipwerke Pro module there was a lot of chatter/knocking at low rpm's while accelerating.

Nice! Are you still on the stock exhaust and dp?

Yes, it's the stock exhaust and downpipe. Ken sells a downpipe for the Q5/A6 and can custom make them however you like.

I think the tuner is married to the vehicle and has to be returned to stock to be unmarried. I've switched back and forth between files to see if there's any difference.
