Hi,
Just upgraded from my B7 A4 Avant to a RS4 Avant and I got some questions about coilovers, searched but all I found was regarding S4 coilovers which will be a different story since they share the V8 anyways.
The RS4 currently got XYZ coilovers installed, but I cant say that I like them very much comparing them to the KW V2's I have in the A4 as the XYZ feels very soggy/bouncy front end on hard shifts and car rolls alot more in corners.
A4 will be going on the market soon after I strip what parts I want to sell on the side/move over to the RS4 and Im thinking about swapping the KW's over aswell.
I "know" they will mount fine and all, but will they really behave so much worse than the KW V3's listed for the RS4?
As far as research goes, the KW V2's for A4 has specs;
Front axle load : 1081-1250 kg
Spring signature: Front 20-60-80 / KW1023 , Rear 1025
Shock signature: Front 100 1006 , Rear 100 1106
KW V3's for RS4;
Max front axle load: 1250 kg
Spring signature: Front 20-60-80 / KW1024 , Rear 1025
Shock signature: Front 100 1006 , Rear 100 1106
How much more is there to it than theese numbers acutally tell? I dont know if I can justify almost $2000 for V3's if the springs/shocks are the same and essentially only getting the compression rating settings when I have V2's thats only 2 years old and in very good shape.
Further down the road I might get the V3's or some other brand that are specificly for the RS4, but I have higher priority items on my list of things for the RS4 right now so will this option atleast suffice as a free suspension "upgrade" for now?
