Unhappy Sputtering on heavy acceleration and other idle issues

    Hello,

I'm fairly new to the forums and have undergone countless research with no exact answer, I was hoping someone either has experienced this line of symptoms or can help in diagnosing what is the exact root to my issues.

To start I had originally started having issues while starting my car, it would crank and crank but would die out unless I gave it some throttle. This happened once in a while, randomly.

I pulled the codes and ended up replacing the PCV diaphragm (ripped), 4 plugs (carboned up and black) and 2 coil packs. This made the car run great for about two months but then threw a Lean On Idle Bank 1 code...

Now I'm running into the same issue again but with new problems. Every time I accelerate heavily I experience sputters. That along with stalling starts are my biggest issues.

My oil smells like gasoline and I've been burning up oil rather quickly.

I also have a rather loud ticking sound, video attached. I'm hoping it's not a bent valve...

Here are the codes I've pulled.

    P0300 - Random - Multiple Misfire Detected
    P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire
    P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire
    P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire
    P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire
P2279 - Intake Air System Leak
P2188 - System Too Rich At Idle bank 1
P2178 - System Too Rich Off Idle Bank 1

Any insight on where to start would be great, or even if anybody has the exact fix would be sweet, but I'm sure I'll have to diagnose this on my own.

Thank you in advance for reading this for and for the help!

Stuck injectors possibly. I had one stick on me and had cylinder 3 misfire, car wouldn't start unless you were revving the shit out of it, exhaust smelled like fuel and fuel got into the oil. Injectors have an extended warranty to, I think, 110,000 miles.

Thank you for the reply, I was thinking that might be the culprit. Still open to other suggestions too!

I think i'm having the same issue....minus the starting problem. Under heavy acceleration, it sputters and has a complete loss of power as soon as I approach 4K rpm. It starts fine and runs fine as long as i'm easy on it.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was?

I know I’m like 2 years late on this thread but my car is literally doing the EXACT same thing as OP.. it’s a 2013 A4 with 104k miles.. new plugs, new coils, new battery recently and my next thing to replace was pcv and injectors so hopefully that solves my issue... if anyone else has any suggestions let me know...

Please provide more info, and can we pick up these failures in VCDS logs? I've logged my HPFP and it seems fine and smooth.
