    Audio Help-No Sound-B7 Cab HELP !!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Let me start this with I'm just knowledgeable enough to get myself in trouble !

    2008 A4 Cabriolet
    Orig. had RNS-E Bose system
Installed JVC unit along with PAC C2R Audi interface and steering wheel adaptor which worked fine last 2 years.

Taking car out of storage this year battery not holding a charge needs replacing and also have intermittent times where I get no sound from audio system. Headunit is on and all functions working but no sound. Not fading in and out GONE. Pull radio out check all connections and still no sound. Start to put it back in get sound again, few minutes later it goes out.

Anyone ever experience this or have any ideas ? Driving me crazy thinking it could be battery related, amplifier, speakers etc.

I actually don't even know where the amp on this is, took pass side of trunk wall apart and not there.
    Any help would be great.

Sent you the below PM in response to yours.

Sorry I didn't see this note note sooner. I'm not on here that much. I only lost sound in the rear speakers. If you've lost all four, then I doubt it's your rear amp. If just the rear, give it a try. I bought mine for maybe $50. It's in the passenger side in the side wall in the trunk. There are several plastic pins you need to remove from the liner to get the liner out of the way and see the amp. You pull the center on the plastic pins out and then you can remove them. Don't just start pulling them out as the center part releases tension somehow. All you need is long arms and a socket set. No other tools needed. I found it easiest to remove the entire bracket, and then replace the amp on the bracket itself outside the car. Put the new amp back on the bracket and reinstall the bracket in the car side wall. I didn't find the internet to be very helpful with diagrams, so I went in pretty blind and got it done in about 90 minutes. It's not tough, just not easy to bend your arms and get at it. Carefully bend back the rigid side wall in the passenger side trunk and you'll see it. It's sort of behind a vent back there. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. I'll check back more often.

Thanks for your reply, actually on the Bose units I thinks the amp powers all the speakers. At any rate I have an amp coming and I'll post up the results.

Check the blue with white stripe wire from the deck to make sure it has power. That is the remote turn on for the amplifier.

I know this is old thread but what pin in quad lock for symphony radio does the amp turn on blue/white go to? I just installed kenwood with PAC adapter from crutchfield and no sound from rear. Can’t tell which pin to connect wire to?
