i will be getting S4 calipers upgraded on the fronts and keeping the rears stock for now.
has anyone done brakes recently and how much labor times does this take?

    thanks in advance.

Typical brake pads and rotors will take a pro no more than a half hour per corner. I haven't upgraded calipers, but I can't imagine it's much more time, if any, swapping those out.

I can't imagine it taking that long unless the S4 calipers don't fit out of the box and major modification is needed. I would get another quote, I think that's gouging. Someone else who has swapped the calipers might be able to chime in and inform if they don't fit out of the box.

That's ridiculous, the longest process with changing calipers is you have to bleed the brakes in the front. Don't go to the dealer find an Indy shop if you can't or don't want to do it yourself with a friend.

For what it's worth, my local performance shop quoted me $150 + fluid for the exact same install.

10.5 hours is insane. Find a good local shop. Or like it was suggested, it is def something that you can do yourself if you have the tools/means.

The S4 calipers, with carriers are bolt on..when I swapped my fronts for the Q5s, I don't remember it taking more then 2 hours.

    that's what i though

    this is what they said:

We typically charge about 10 hrs of labor to do that, witch is roughly $1,614.25 an that’s just labor no parts for the rear brakes.
For you ill charge you 8.5 hrs an ill discount the labor pricing for the front an rear brakes
    Breakdown
2 hr for the front $300.00 for you $266.00 pads an rotors
1 hr for the brake bleed $139.95
1 hr for each caliper an the pins includes 2hrs $300.00
Half an hour for both the steel brake lines $150.00

Labor for the front brakes, pads, rotors, brake bleed, calipers an pins, brake lines total $855.95

Labor for the rear brakes is 2.5 hrs again I have it discounted for you from $375.00 to $333.00 that extra half hr is because the car has electronic parking brake in the rear.
    Pads $113.00
    Rotors $140.00 x 2
    Total $726.00 plus tax
Grand total $1,581.95 plus tax for only the rear brakes pads an rotors, no tax on labor..
