    Euro-Roc Intake / Communication

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    HI All,

I have seen plenty of posts on here about the ROC euro intake being regarded as the best out there atm (bar a couple of others:/)

So I took the plunge and ordered one 3 weeks ago (before I even got the S4).

I had responses from John within a few hours, but after placing the order and paying extra for expedited post to the UK, all has gone quiet.

I have chased him up 3 times and not getting any responses at all. I didn't really wanna call seeing as I'm in the UK. But I thought he had his shop settled now and up to date with orders?

I don't mind not having the intake right now; but it would just be nice to get confirmation of the order and expected delivery dates.

I'm pretty new here but after alot of reading and comments about RocEuro, it seems as if they have terrible after sale service, so your story kinda seems "normal"...

Pretty much par for the course. I was given about 10 excuses over the 2 weeks i had to wait for mine. And i feel i got off pretty easy.

If i were to do it again i would have gone CTS.

I'm new to German cars, as I came from a Ford Focus ST mk2. I'm still trying to work out what to go for and where to go, especially as i'm over here in Southampton, UK.

But I am booked in this Friday to jump to stage 2 with MRC in Oxford :). They modify the airbox and change hoses, so I may not even use the Roc-Euro tbh.

Cancel your order and go with CTS. John is working on another platform now and has been for a while.

How do I go about cancelling without any communication? I suppose I could just retract the card payment?

Please could you post the link to the CTS intake?

Probably not the best location for this but do any of the aftermarket intakes use stock filters? I have an aFe dry filter and it does great, would like to reuse that if possible.

Ask for a refund and get a CTS intake. It's basically the same exact thing with improvements.

One word of caution about CTS filters, they're horrible. Purchased a new breather filter from in November but didn't get a chance to put it until February. It's already rusting so I'm 0 for 2, anyone got another vendor I can buy filters from? BTW, I'm in the midwest and it has been an unreasonably dry winter/spring. http://imgur.com/PtmDMz7

Also consider the new ECS intake which looks to be the most thought out of all the options. I have order two roc-euro intakes with John and the second for a friend was a huge headache. Quality and sound are fantastic but service can be lacking.

My personal experience with them has been amazing. I had an issue with the breather filter and they resolved it very quickly. For reference this was a few months ago. Stinks to hear people having issues with them as all my dealings have been stellar

I love my roc euro but I would get the ECS intake that just came out. Better shield design and breather filter mount. Should sound about the same as well.

I got the ECS intake with the CF shield on top of it. As others have mentioned, it sounds just as loud and awesome as the other open element intakes. I like how it mounts to the same spots as the original airbox. Only downside imo is the price, but the one without the carbon fiber cover is pretty close in price to these, I think.

Judging by our great customer reviews on our intake you really can't go wrong! And these are just a few, not to mention the countless amount of positive feedback in our intake threads of satisfaction

The fit and finish of this in house intake is flawless. Parts are extremely high quality, and everything lines up and installs with ease. The carbon fiber looks amazing under the hood.

After installing the intake, the urge to floor it around town is unbearable. The whine from the supercharger is addicting, and a head turner. The ponies and torque this thing unleashes will be immediately noticed when the gas pedal meets your carpet. Highly recommend this product.
    Posted By DavidT623 on 9/1/2015 - Vero Beach, FL | Audi B8 S4 Quattro 3.0T | Moderately heavy foot.
I ordered this item after doing a fair amount of research on options on my 2014 S4. With this powerplant, there are a fair amount of choices for an intake, and I do not regret picking this one at all.

The order process was smooth, shipping was fast, and I was impressed with the packaging. All parts were neatly organized and I found the instructions to be straight-forward.

All in all, the install took me approximately 45 minutes. The tools required for extremely basic and the kit replaced all but two minor pieces of the old intake, which I prefer.

All of the pieces fit well and I never felt like I had to "force" a piece into place.

Now that the piece is installed, I enjoy the enhanced response and sound when I open up the throttle. The "whine" from the supercharger is composed and entirely controllable for when I leave my neighborhood to head to work at 6 AM.

I can easily recommend this product, and working with ECS Tuning in general. I was excited to see that they produced this in-house system, especially when I feel it is one of the best options out there for the 3.0T powerplant.

Best of luck in your search, fellow enthusiasts -- I have no regrets buying this for my S4!

I will echo what everyone else has said about this...TOP NOTCH. The packaging was impressive. The instructions were spot on. The fitment is unprecedented. The appearance is nothing short of gorgeous.

This was my first real modification on this car and I can already tell ECS is going to get more of my money down the road.

Damnit, I just installed the AWE carbon intake, but its two pieces (box cover and inlet duct), that single piece looks amazing!

Believe it or not the CF lid and pipe on our intake are two pieces as well! But it fits together so flawlessly that it definitely can give off that illusion.

Looks like a much better fitment! Might have to sell the AWE and make a switch :) AWE makes you drill holes into the stock box to attach the inlet duct:

    Pardon my ignorance. But...

Is the Kohlefaser system and the Carbon Fiber/Silicone system the same with exception of a shield on top for looks or is it actually more intake than one without it?

There's minor differences between the two styles. Biggest being the kits without the CF cover feature a taller heat shield which seals against the hood so you still get an enclosed filter area for cool air isolation.

The kit with the Silicone pipe doesn't use couplers obviously and just needs hose clamps at either end.

    That's really it.

Is the air box on your Kohlefaser Luft-Technik Intake System fully enclosed like the OEM air box or is it closed on the engine side and open on the fender side? I can't tell by the ton of pictures in your web page.

Fender side is open. But you have complete isolation from the engine side between the heat shield and the carbon lid.

So 7/8 weeks later and still no intake. No response by either phone or 6 emails.

Just waiting for the Paypal case to close and then gonna go either ECS or CTS.

    Very Disappointed!

There are much better intakes out there than the roc-euro and include superior support.
