    Farewell B6

I was driving in the center lane crossing the intersection during a green light, out of nowhere a car making a right turn entered my lane. It was impossible to brake in time so i tried swerving to the far left lane. Teen driver manage to cross 3 lanes during her right turn and pinned my car against the center divider curve. The impart was hard enough that it lifted my car 3 feet off the ground, for a moment there i was preparing for a roll over. I am glad i walked away without a scratch on my body, sad to say my b6 didn't make it out. She was declared totaled by my insurance company.

I've gotten so attached to my audi a4 over the years since i've spent countless hours working on her. It's more of a love hate relationship because I felt like i spent more time working on her than actually driving. I always read about people good byes never thought i would actually have to say good bye to my car this way. B6 section has been a tremendous help with not only troubleshooting but also modifying my car. Unfortunately I will be leaving the B6 section, great news is i picked up another audi.

"It's more of a love hate relationship because I felt like i spent more time working on her than actually driving". You probably actually did spend more time fixing than driving because Audi
But in all seriousness sorry for your loss. I just spent the better of the last 3 months fixing up my Avant and for somebody to total right now I probably would strangle them.

Sucks! But from the pic, does not look like much damage at all. Junk yard fender, junk yard bumper, headlight, new wheel, and inspect suspension.

Glad you are Okay. Many of us say how much we work on our B6 during ownership. Then when it is gone many of us pick another Audi. That says alot about the brand. Sorry you lost yours but it's great you're staying with the four rings. Good luck with your new Audi.

Agree with this one. No way he got 3 feet off the ground with as little damage shown.

I definitely could of fixed her back up but after I blew my built motor due to incorrect timing. I dropped in a stock motor that wasn't running right because either my timing chain or belt. I thought long and hard about buying her back and keeping her as my project car but parking is limited at where I lived. With one 2 year old and another on the way at the time I needed something that was reliable because I either didn't have time fixing the car or I didn't want to be stranded with my kids. Loud exhaust, stiff suspension, stage 3 clutch and high flow cat was no environment for a baby. Sacrifices we have to make as adults unfortunately. I really miss the sound and feeling of driving the car hard. My 3.0 supercharge gets up to speed fast with absolutely no sound. :(

Yeah, it's a minor scratch! $300 for bodywork + whatever suspension and steering parts need replacing. Shame to dismantle such a nice car.

My suspension took majority off the impact that's why the insurance company totalled the car. Had I been hit closer to my headlight the damage would of been more noticeable. The car had to be towed home since I wasn't able to drive straight.

Glad you're okay man, these cars an really take a hit and keep occupants safe. Well said about wrench time > drive time. It's getting a bit ridiculous these days.

Such a shame for such small (visible) damage.

Amb engine was probably one of the worse engine in terms of reliability. Those problem are only magnify when you start to modify the engine. I love the interior of audi, and the 3.0 supercharger engine is suppose to be pretty bullet proof even after chipped.
