    Hey all,

Like the title goes. Id like to install an RNS-E unit in my B5, I have all the needed adapters etc but still need the unit. Will a any RNS-E unit do or must it be from a euro C5 as every DYI uses? If anyone can confirm this and reason why Id greatly appreciate it👍!

The benefit of using one from a C5 is that it "fits" the B5 without modification. There is a slight gap around the faceplate, but it is pretty close. That being said, they are extremely hard to find... where as ones from B7 A4/S4's are much more common.

You'll have to make a custom faceplate if you use a B7 RNS-E, but it will otherwise work fine with the proper adapters/wiring/etc.

I have the rnse in my b5. There is a fair amount of work if you want it perfect. I recommend the newer mk2 version. If you have questions i will try to help you. I did the whole install myself.

Goalieman, any templates available to "make a custom faceplate" or a DIY? I have a B7S4 unit going into C5 Allroad.......something to fill the gaps I assume.....
