    Squeaky brakes!

So it seems no matter what car I have I deal with squeaky brakes. My car has 350 miles on it and it is baaaaaaad! Anytime at slow speeds it squeals with light brake pressure. Even i take foot off brake it makes noise. I have seen posts by people changing pads cause they are sick of the dust and noise but wasn't sure. Does everyone here have squeaky brakes? Does it get better or worse? And what does dealer typically say?
    Thanks,

I changed to Wearever pads and it's even worse. So much so, that when I head back down to NGP to return to stock before my 45k service, I will likely have them install different pads up front. The noise is brutal and constant. A couple of hard scrubs of the brakes will temporarily relieve me of the noise, but then it's back within minutes of driving.

This has been exactly my experience with Centric Posi-Quiet pads. The brake feel and performance is great and they don't dust, but the noise is driving me batshit. I'm very close to going back to the OEM pads and just dealing with the dust. They were squeak-free for me.

My OEMs made noise, but primarily in cold weather. These fricking Wearevers make noise regardless of temp. Killing me. I too would gladly take back the dust to get rid of the noise. The guys guarding the gate at work tell me they are going to start wearing ear plugs whenever they see me coming.

Ugh. The entrance to my development is also a bus stop for the local elementary school so I can imagine that those kids hate me as I have to brake for a stop sign right next to where they congregate. Fortunately the majority of them are wearing earbuds, but the couple that aren't probably cringe at the sight of my car approaching.

I read somewhere that it could be because they are new. And the article mentioned I should do a hard stop. Maybe slamming on the brakes will make it better? I dunno

Talk to the SA at dealership where you get your car as well as loop the sale person in, I bet they will say the same thing as what you read that because it's new but let them be aware of this issue so if it doesn't go away after 1000 miles or so, something could be wrong and they should take care of it.

I've been thinking of getting in touch with the stealer as well. My 16 RS7 squeaks all the time now, getting annoying!

Yes i understand it's a performance vehicle and while some people feel squealing = racecar, but it's also a huge 4000lb+ sedan and i want quiet! :)

Back when i had a TTRS, Audi replaced the entire brake setup for a couple reasons, squealing included.

Not to sound Vain or weird but its like I just bought a 94k car and my brakes are squealing when I pull up to the drive through coffee place or dropping my kids off at school, its kind of embarrassing!

not always. if enough complain to Audi, they will do something. make sure you call AoA and file a complaint with a case number and if enough people make a stink, they'll do something about it.

I've had the same issue on my S7 and even my R8 in colder weather with OEM brakes (to a much lesser extent)... switching to Porterfield R4-S soon. Will report back afterwards, but they've been great on my R8

My S4 didn't squeak as much as my S6 - my S6 brakes squeak all the time. Doesn't matter if its warm outside, or if i've been driving for awhile, or if I slam on the brakes from 100-25. When the guy driving a dump truck looks at the car because my brakes are squealing louder than his you know there's a problem.

I'm sure TAG recommended Ray in service, who I use. Just make sure to request Tony as a technician too. Super nice guy. My car is there now actually. I'm in encinitas often, down to meet up. I'm a sucker for Sepang Blue haha..

Porterfields have solved my squeaking problem. They were installed on OEM rotors w/ 29k miles on them. I prefer the feel of the Porterfields to the OEMs. Too early to say how the brake dust stacks up, but that was never really a concern of mine anyway

Im on my OEM pads & rotors and approaching 9k miles.

I had some early squealing problems, but it didn't last long. I get the occasional squeal now and again but its rare and not continuous.

I power wash my car/wheels pretty much weekly, and that seems to resolve any issues associated with brake dust.

That's how mine were for the first 15-20k miles, but they got progressively louder as the pads wore down.

I have a 2013 S4 and my front brakes squeal from time to time at different times over the years. I have 35000 miles and still squeak. I have taken it in the dealer applies some type of lubricant and the problem is diminished. Taking the vehicle back in for the same issue.

    Same story

My car has 1800 miles on it and has squealed since I got it. Some days not so much, some days all the time (always low speeds though). Took it to dealer and they couldn't do anything. They couldn't even get the sound recorded to send to Audi. Complete waste of time. When I go in for 5K service I will make them do something at that time.

I have had the same issue; upon coming to a stop with little break applied they squeak... I reached out to my sales guy who spoke to the head mechanic and he told me that the breaks are there to stop you from high rates of speed not little stops so the squeaking is normal... I just bought new aftermarket pads so lets see how this goes...
