    Timing belt and water pump help please

    Hey guys so my daily driver is a 2003 Audi A4 quattro B6. I did some reaearch and called my local Audi delaership. They said that the timing belt and water pump was done at 116,000KM. I just bought the car and its at 177,000KM. Hiw much more life do you think i can squeeze out of it safely before my next tb and wp

    I would change it asap. You are playing with fire in the 65-75 range.

    Oh crap did not see km, I think you are good then. I would change it any way, just to be safe.

    75k miles is almost 110,000 km
    So if it was done at 116k km amd the car is now at 176k i should still be good?

    Yes, 120K per 1.8T timing belts is a safe conservative number. The fact that it was done at audi and it's on record is reassuring.

    Forum lore goes 120 K +/-100K :p

    Did they replace the tensioner when first TB & WP was replaced? If not, Check your tension on the belt, and check belt for physical condition. If both are good, I wouldn't worry. You will be safe until 200-220,000km.
