A few items that need attention- 2010 A4

    Hey guys,

I think I have a compound issue here, but I want to put it out there for you to comment on.

A little background. We have a 2010 A4. My wife went off the road back in January and smacked into a tree. Messed up the front passenger side- swing arm, fender, hood, and so on. Had a broken engine mount and then the starter failed. All sorts of fun.
Regardless, I took it to the body shop for repairs. They did a great job on the outside, but they had all sorts of problems with the inside! Everything from seat belts locked up to all sorts of error codes.

Well, here's where I'm at. Car is running fine [mostly]. Only issues that I see are "Parking Light Failure", the "Airbag" light is on, the rear seat belts are frozen, and on occasion, the car takes a little bit to 'catch'. It's kinda slow to turn/start.
As I said, I think there are multiple problems going on here...

Regardless, here is the VAG com scan log. Maybe you guys see something?? Any pattern? Where should I start? Do I have to replace all the rear seats in order for the airbag light to turn off? I've read that the parking brake error might be tied to the airbag as well....

Any help is greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU!

Do you have a VAGCOM? The air bag light can be turned off within its own module (separate from generally clearing codes). If not, I have one and I live nearby and am happy to help troubleshoot.

If the seat belt tensioners keep locking up, they might need to be replaced... I'm not sure if those are only supposed to be used in one accident or what. Dealer would know.

You may have a parking light bulb out, as well, and it could be unrelated to the accident.

The starter could just have been installed incorrectly, or not be an OE part. If the part isn't expensive and it's a DIY, it might be worth replacing yourself or, if it bothers you a lot, having Fairfield Audi adjust or replace it. They're stand-up guys and won't charge you for work you don't need.

Yes, I have a VAGCOM but I just don't want to clear codes because I can, without addressing the problems first. I'd imagine that once cleared, the airbag light will come back on if the faults are related to the seat belts!
I've been reading that the seat belts have an ignitor that may have gone off. I guess I have to pull the back seats to see if they are locked.

With that said, I wanted to see what you guys thought about the codes. "Intermittent supply voltage"? Check "DTC memory"? and of course the "resistance too high" fault...?

After re-reading this... Call your insurance company first, but I would suggest taking it to the dealer. Whomever did the repairs probably missed replacing some minor things, but almost every single thing in these cars ties into the computer system and will throw errors. I would have them use their scan tools and give you a quote to make it right, and see if your insurance will cover the cost. They should, since it is accident-related, although you may have to push them on it. I suspect that you need new seat belts (or some related sensors), a new ABS sensor or reprogram of the one you have, and possibly a passenger air bag sensor, or reset of same. The ABS and parking brake failures are likely tied to the same issue. The HVAC may be unrelated, but it may also be related. The dealer can likely confirm.

I highly recommend Fairfield Audi's service department, they'll take care of you and they can also get you a service loaner.
