Hit a raccoon - I think

Driving to work this morning I hit a raccoon or something the size of the raccoon - I stopped and looked and couldn't see anything in the dark.

Damage is below - does anyone know what the part number is for that plastic insert part just above the splitter?

Thanks. A possibility. My dealer thought the same but could not order the actual part - just have to make sure 2015 and 2016 part is the same.

Was hoping someone here might've replaced that specific part.

This was after a wash! car was dirty. Definitely an animal - I saw it in my rear view after i ran over it.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Should be an affordable repair. Just for fun here are my post-impact-with-large-animal shots - $7k in damage. Happened a few months ago and I forgot to share with you all Never did replace the mesh grill after this - it was sad how easily it succumbed to the impact, and I had a feeling that it wouldn't hold up to road debris anyway given the flexible mesh design.

i ran over a dog once in my s5 after this other car hit it and it flew across my lane and i drove over it :( i will never forget that dog's face :( :(

Just get the part number from them and order it somewhere else cheaper. Actually confirm if 16 and 15 are the same and order the number I gave you before.

my son has an S3. wild turkeys inhabit his front yard. If they are around his car when he leaves for work the see their reflection in the paint and attack the car. They actually chipped the paint. OMG. Maybe we need to run over a few of these??

Per dealer that black plastic part that broke is infused to the front bumper/grill = need new bumper.

Cost incl paint = $3700-$4000

Make sure you don't hit anything with the front of the car lol!

thats insane. there is no way that its worth that much with the little bit of damage that is in that pic. talk about inflating prices.

A lot of that cost is the remove and install labor time of every single part in that bumper. Dealer rates on paint are pretty exorbitant and I'm sure they would add a sensor calibration for laughs. I hope you have a reasonably low comprehensive deductible!
