It's Brake and Pads time! Recommendations welcome

    Hey guys,

So after 28k miles my front rotors and pads are needed to be changed. While at it, I want to also paint the calipers and add some Brembo stickers. I feel like the regular color doesn't do justice nor flows with the car.

    Few questions:

What rotors you guys recommend? Stock? Slotted? drilled?
What pads you recommend? I ran hawk on my old STi and have heard good things about EBC brakes. (I want quiet pads, don't care about the dust)
What paint have you guys used for the calipers? (I'm thinking painting them black)

    Vehicle 2013 3.0t Q5

    Thanks in advance.

I haven't changed the pads on my Q5 yet, but I put PowerStop rotors and pads on my Passat and they work well. I had them on my F-150 as well and they were much better than the OEM parts. StopTech makes good products too.

Girodisc rotors - they're a direct OEM 2 piece replacement option with a floating mount system. The rotors are slotted for better stopping power (and better looks). And best of all, they're 25% lighter.

Look at G2 caliper paint. They have pictures on their website with calipers that look like the ones on a Q5. There are some white calipers with black Brembo stickers on them that look good.

I used G2 Silver, and the color is not as uniform as I'd like. They put some type of metallic flake to make it shine, and it follows the stroke of the brush. From 15+ feet away it looks perfect. Close up you can see some of the streaks.

I have always used VHT caliper paint (high temp rating) and then cleared over the decal with VHT clear. Gives a nice, long lasting durable shine... and easy clean off too.

I just want to add por15 engine paint. It is a good alternative to vht, duplicolor and g2.
