Northern NJ (and surrounding areas) dealer and service advisor recommendations?

I'm due for my first service pretty soon and am looking for a good service dept and service advisor in northern NJ (willing to travel as far as central NJ or NYC). I purchased the car from Audi Meadowlands. They seem to have good feedback, so I'll likely go to them, but definitely would like to hear about any good or bad recent experiences at dealers in the area. I've already crossed JD off my list based on bad experiences with them and my previous S4.

I have some limited mods, so a service dept that won't jump to conclusions (I'm not tuned) would be a major plus. And if you recommend a specific service advisor, a name would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!

I have not used them personally, but I have heard good things about Motorsport GmbH in Lyndhurst, NJ. I asked this questions in a Facebook auto thread, and the response I got was that they are fair priced and they do good work. Maybe someone else will chime in here who has actually used them. I'm curious to hear other responses myself.

Do your car a favor and don't let it see the inside of a dealership. Take it to EuroTech in Mahwah. The free first service is nothing more than an oil change.. And that's if the dealership even does it, and/or does it properly.

EuroTech is definitely where I'm planning to go long-term. It seems like they're the one shop with a totally impeccable reputation on these forums. I'd like to at least have a dealer to go to though for warranty items, and I figure the 5K oil change should be something they can handle easily (*** insert dealer oil change horror stories here ***).

From what I can tell, Meadowlands and Bell seem to be the most respected service departments in the area, but I'd love to hear any updated personal experiences.

Purchased my S4 from Newton Audi in NJ. A few weeks ago I took her in for her 15k service. I had no issues there. Marc in service is very friendly and helpful. The technicians there seem to know what they are doing. We have all heard of horror stories dealing with cars being butchered at dealers. I went in and came out with peace of mind knowing my baby was in good hands. Its an hour ride for me and well worth it.

Also received a courtesy call the following week to ensure everything was fine...

We're happy to help with any maintenance needs you have as well - we have weekend hours, and our hourly rate is much less than other shops in the area (and we also help keep the lights on here as a sponsor). If you're looking for a reputable dealer, try Town in Englewood - it's the most stand up one amongst those in the area.

Meadowlands is good, always has plenty of appointments and loaners available. Plus it's conveniently close to Lincoln Tunnel, and they're quick.
Bell is a bit far, but they're good too. They're the most up to date in technology.
Town has also been good to me. Their hours are good since they're open a bit later on a few days, but they're always busy and a bit slower - hard to find appointments/loaners.

Good to hear :) Yea I hear you on needing a dealer for warranty items. For me, unless it's a super expensive warranty thing, I'm taking it to EuroTech to fix anyway. And if the dealer does have to fix something major, I'm having EuroTech double check it too.

Classic Audi in Westchester is awesome. Ask for Eddie. He's the best SA I have ever dealt with. He's mod sensitive and has always looked out for me and my cars. I've had the S5, Q5 and now the the RS serviced there. In fact, he just picked up the twin to your SQ and looking to start modding it. Great dealer and not too far from you.

It's funny you mentioned the CX-Rs, because I've been exchanging messages with a guy who got one of the other sets from Ben to put on his SQ5. It seems like there's a lot more Q5 owners these days trying to upgrade shoes.

I was very happy with the work done and overall experience at Eurotech (looks like it will be my go-to independent shop going forward), but that's a hike from Bell in Edison. I don't have experience with the other shops, but I was considering Drive Auto Works and they seem to have good feedback on the forum. Their Mountainside location is relatively close to Bell. I think you're more likely to get a thorough inspection from a good indy shop vs a dealer.

That's what I believe as well. I google-mapped both Eurotech and Drive Auto and they're roughly 45+ from Bell. I don't think the dealership is going to let me take the car for two hours.

Not to hijack the thread, but any opinions on Paul Miller on 46? I gotta bring her in for the 15k service soon. I bought the S4 up in Nyack at Palisades Audi and brought it there for the 5k and didn't have any issues.

Only problem is its about ~45 minutes away so I can only drop the car off on the weekend. Paul Miller is a lot more convenient if they are decent. No mods on the car although after the 15k I plan on letting loose

Goto Eurotech in Mahwah. Drive AutoWorks was one of the WORST experiences i have ever had!!! I will never go back there again (at least in Clifton). I wont speak for the other location but I would avoid the one in Clifton at all cost. Went there to get my brand new rim mounted with tires and the idiots curbed my wheel. I shouldve just waited a day for my appt in Eurotech but was excited and anxious and decided to goto Drive auto based on someone i met recommending them. They 'fixed' the wheel but when you pay that much for a brand new monoforged rim and they curb it while out driving it...its never the same. had to take off two days from work and travel back and forth multiple times, taking the wheel off and putting them back on. They repaired it in house and zerod out the bill as well as respray one of my peeler rims.... but as most owners who baby their car.... nothing is the same once it gets damaged. I will continue to warn anyone against that location. Ended on bad terms as there was a misunderstanding of the peeler wheel being resprayed which they wanted me to pay. I was expecting a much better experience and care from a place that works on high end cars but ive learned my lesson the hard way. WHat a difference between Eurotech and them..
