Has anyone tried the muffler delete on the SQ5? It appears based on pictures that the Milltek Performance Exhaust is a muffler delete system. I purchased aftermarket exhaust tips and might try a muffler delete in combination with them.

Anyone try this? I'm really thinking of trying this paired with Milltek GT100 black cerakote tips. I'm sick of the polished tips I had installed.

My only concern with the muffler delete is drone since it is my wife's

I have a 3.0T and took out the center muffler, 2x resonators, and 2 rear mufflers.

In their place, I put in an Magnaflow xpipe and 2x magnaflow rear mufflers.

Sounds great. Only Drone-iness is driving up a hill.

Any SQ5 owners that just removed the back mufflers and replace with straight pipes?

I did just the opposite. Left the stock mufflers and valves and replaced the downpipes with AWE non-resonated. I like it.

What makes Milltek a muffler delete system? It has mufflers, a central resonator, and the option to have an additional resonator on the downpipes just like AWE.

It appears they have two systems. Google it and you will see they have a muffler delete system.

Any update? I really want to know how a muffler delete sounds. I already removed the valves and put on bigger tips.

Quick update. My exhaust guy is still working on fabricating the pipes. All the measurements have been taken and I hope to have it done tomorrow. Will post a video/pictures as soon as it's done.

Is there a big difference in volume or drone when the valves are closed? I've been thinking of going this path on my 3.0T, but haven't heard/seen any others do so.

I've been considering the same idea, do you or have you posted any videos of your exhaust with the replaced downpipes?

Haha. I watched that video 100 times but it is so hard to tell from videos. I always like some real owner feedback. You probably didn't notice but that is my comment on the video asking for some feedback on the set up. Please let me know how it turns out because I'm very interested. And if you don't mind how much is this costing you? I can get the Milltek GT 100 exhaust tips for $300 but not sure how much the muffler delete and install will set me back. I already spent $400 on magnaflow tips, install, and valve delete.. I should have just bought the AWE exhaust and not messed around!

There's one on my build thread, but the GoPros and cellphones just don't have any fidelity so you can't really get a feel of the actual sound.

Based on SQives' video, i will get the downpipe resonators removed, this weekend. I will do a before and after video. Also I pulled all the fiber glass packing out the the mufflers this weekend, yielded a very slight increase in sound.

The Switchpath? I wasn't aware that worked for the stock S/Q5 exhaust.

EDIT: I guess it does. It just doesn't come up as an available product when you select SQ5 in the drop down. Interesting option for those with MF/Militek/stock though...http://www.awe-tuning.com/switchpath-exhaust-remote

My setup is still the same. It's quite quiet when the valves are closed, almost as quiet as stock, with the only drone being when stopped, in gear. When I open it up, it's raw, almost straight-pipe raw. I wonder, though, if gutting your mufflers would be a bit much without the resonators.

Yes, I like the idea of retaining the valves! We will see; if it is too loud maybe attacking the center muffler would be best.

So thats front resonators and the rear mufflers. I am thinking replacing centre resonator with resonated or a pure x-pipe.
The one thing I want the most is crackle and pops.

got a video of how it sound after the packing removal?

I just got the AWE valve controller installed, and it works great.
very silent when closed, and ab it too silent when open. Have ordered the X-pipe, so will be removing the center muffler.

    Yes, please.
So you have removed muffler packing and removed front resonators?
Did you replace front resonators with an X-pipe?

Do you have video of before and after muffler packing removal?

Can you turn the switch path back to 'stock' setting with the remote, or is it just an open/close setting once you have it installed?

I'd think this is best for those with downpipes/more aggressive midsections.
