New to MMI question

I've tried searching with no luck.

My MMI is no longer displaying "Google" text or whether I'm on 2G or 3G any more. It was working just fine yesterday. I think it has something to do with my wife driving it... (Sarcasm)

It's on a 2012 A6, Software version: HN+R_US_AU_P0487, Navigation database: 8R0060884AD NAR 5.5.5

Stupid question, but did your data svc expire (check sim)?

Never seen that. Looks like a bug. Your firmware is ancient. If you still have warranty left take it to the dealer and have them update it to K0814. In the meantime, try doing a hard reset by simultaneously pressing 1, 2 and 3. Even if your data service expired, you should still see the 2G/3G logo greyed out.

I actually just purchased 30 months of it a week ago. I think I'll call T-Mobile to see what's up.

I've tried getting the dealer to update it, they want $450. I've also tried resetting it. I might have messed something up while tweaking with the "Green Menu" and Vag-Com.

$450 is for updating the maps. Updating the firmware is a warranty item. Two separate things. You should have led with the fact that you messed around with the Green Menu and Vag-Com. Yes, you most likely messed something up.

This happened to me in my 2014 s6. When I went to the dealer, they reset 5f (even though no mods were in place at the time). That fixed it.

There is a known recall on some C7 models. I have an A7 that's in right now for the hardware update. I had the same problem. Not sure if this is what's causing your problem

Sorry for the hijack of the thread, but one irritating item is that every time a restart the car, and I left the MMI on radio, I have to push the memory short cut key to get my preset channels back. Do other C7 A6 & A7 do this?
