What year/ model can I use the wiper arms off of on my B6?

Am I correct in saying all B7 arms will work and they are also all "aero" style.

There is also a generation of Passat that works IIRc, can someone enlighten me?

I am tired of going to buy wipers and no one having them for a B6 due to the stupid propitiatory wiper arm --> wiper blade connection.

    thanks all.

I'm changing my wiper blades (2005 B6) in the next day or so. Standby for results.

I spent 28 dollars for a pair of used 2006 B6 3.0 Cabriolet wipers for my 04 B6 A4. They fit perfectly, look nicer, and do a better job than the original wipers that were there.

Just be careful when you swap them out, I'd invest in one of those wiper arm pullers. They get seized on there really good and you can easily destroy the windshield if you make a mistake.

I just went the M6 + nut route. They really dont make wipers like they use to :/

Does anyone else experience water droplets on the windshield that the arms leave as they return? Drives me nuts. I am considering covering the arm in heat shrink to prevent water from sticking to it.

Maybe a pitman puller would work to pull the wiper arm off?

The best way to remove the wiper arms is to loosen the nut but leave it on the wiper shaft with about one turn then tip up the wiper arm away from the windshield and grip the wiper arm firmly. Next shake and twist the wiper arm using moderate force. The wiper arm will loosen and come of the splines of the wiper shaft. The loose nut prevents the arm from coming completely free unexpectedly causing possible damage.

I tried that on mine and they were seized pretty good, I used a puller tool to take them off. The linkage seized shortly after and I had to take that apart with a blow torch and some pliers. Got everything greased up good and hopefully will be good for a few more years.

The method I described assumes the arms are not seized/corroded onto the shafts.

Bosh wipers are a good choice to use with this mod. They have a metal bracket under the plastic cover.

    Thanks.

I may very well do this to hold me over until I find a B7 at the wreckers to steal the wiper arms off.

Get some PBblaster, WD40, or some lubricant to get those arms off. It took a while, but they do come off. And Bosch are good wipers too.
