2.0t FSI: Spare Long Block - Short Block- IE Rods

Hey guys,

Since my car is sold I am off loading some of my spare parts I intended to use to build my motor:

Long Block from a VW GTI with a BPY engine code. The guy I bought it from said the timing chain broke while idling in his driveway. All valves have been inspected and they are intact and the pistons have been inspected for no damage. This is perfect for someone who is looking to do a complete build with rods and performance valve train and doesn't want to spend a ton of money on a running engine when they don't need to since its been built.

- Willing to part out or sell as whole.


Short Block from a 2007 Audi A4 with a BWT engine code. This is just the block with a the rotating assemble (rods pistons crank etc..). This is perfect for someone who is only looking to build their bottom end to handle additional power, or even for someone who is trying to get away from oil consumption issues with their current engine.

No they are not. But I believe I remember that IE will rifle drill them for you if that is something you want done.

I thought all transverse cars had a manual capable crank and that only the b7 tip crank is incompatible with the pilot bearing?

Hmm interesting. The cranks looked identical to me but I will have to check again.

This crank came out of a BPY in an '07 GLI. I'm not sure if it was manual or auto. It is now installed in my car with a JHM flywheel bolted to it .


This is a B7 Tip crank. Note the different shape of the crank.

Oh you are right!! Both of mine are manuals . Makes sense because when I bought both of them I remembered buying engines that came from manuals, then someone told me I had Tip cranks.

Does the short block have the balance shaft assembly intact? 300 is a steal! I paid just that for a manual crank once i realized I had a tip crank!!

I would have to look. I know there is a chain in there though. I paid $430 for this short block. The long block had it all. Just needs valves and it's a engine that's ready to go!

I've got a set of new OEM rings if you wanted to rering the stock pistons at the same time.

This is one thing I wish I would have done when I rebuilt. Mine were good, but for safety or longivity sake, I shouldn't have listened to builder and done the re ring anyways. Just for piece of mind.
