Need the part # for the flywheel bolts. Tried to use the oem bolts and found out quick that they are way to long. Searched the fourm and did not find much. Im a little pissed at how much i wasted on the oem bolts and cant even use them. Any help would be appreciated.

    Measure twice, cut once
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

I think many of the thinner fw use bolts from like an 02 jetta with a vr6.
Been a while, but I think something like 23mm instead of 43mm.
They are also 90deg after the initial torque instead of stock 180deg. Less bolt to stretch so you dont need to twist it as much.

The best way is to just measure the hole and the thickness of the fw to be sure.
This is new motor time if you get it wrong, so play it safe.

How much thread should stick out past the flywheel and engage into the crank hub? I have a TTV steel flywheel on order, and will ned to come up with bolts. I am assuming stock length bolts will be too long.

I measured a long time ago but dont remember off the top of my head.
I know the oem bolts are 43mm and can prob measure the fw thickness tomorrow and do math stuff.

TTV is stock bolts. But if you were still questioning this...:

14mm is roughly the threaded hole depth. In perfect world you'd like the bolt to have about 12mm sticking out on the other side of FW to leave some room for bite and stretch.

Oem bolt protrudes 10mm and like julex said, the hole in the crank is 14mm deep, but prob not threaded all the way and you need to leave room for the bolt to stretch the .5mm that it does when you give it the extra 180deg.
    I would stick with 10mm, 12mm max.

On the fw that use shorter bolts, 10-12mm protrusion is still good, but you only give an extra 90deg on the torque so they grow .25mm.

So put bolts thru flywheel and cut off anything sticking out further 10mm to 12mm?

Sounds right. I would make sure to put a nut on them first before you cut them. This way, when you cut the shank shorter, you can de-burr it and remove the nut to reduce thread damage.

I confirm that. I measured the parts today.
