    Auto folding mirrors?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just picked up a 2015 CPO A5 Premium Plus for the fiance' over the weekend and am trying to figure out how to enable auto folding mirrors when parked. Car has s-line, power mirrors/seats and tech pkg. There is no option in the MMI menu I can find to enable this. Also the mirror controls in the door don't have the option to rotate the knob to fold the mirrors like my allroad. Does this mean there is no way to enable this? Seems that with power folding mirrors this would be a no brainer.

I think power mirrors is just the power adjustment not power folding. Yeah, it's dumb.

Wow, that is surprising. So I guessing that means there wouldn't be a Vag-Com mod either without hardware retrofitting also?

It's not worth it. The install is also a pita as you have to take your doors apart to install the wiring/switch.

Yeah figured it would be. Fiancé will have to learn to avoid knocking off the mirrors. LOL.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

For a $70K car, my S5 should have had power folding mirrors as standard. I was disappointed to find out the A5, S5, RS5 can't even have that as an option. Bravo, Audi!

Could be worse. I didn't realize until AFTER I bought my A4 that folding rear seats didn't come standard. So that's been a huge PITA.

I didn't realize that the A4's didn't come standard with folding rear seats. That's absurd! One would really end up scratching their head and wondering what the Audi USA decision makers were thinking. Dumb move on their part. Who buys a sedan with no folding rear seats? And, how much would it cost just to make it standard? (Shaking head in disbelief)

Not worth it. With parts and labor, you have a better return of putting that toward a nice trip for the both of you. I'm sure your fiancee is a good driver, but after a month the car will be collecting door dings and scratches elsewhere, rendering a nice folding mod useless aesthetically.

It is a PITA, but worth it imo. I put on carbon fiber covers (extra PITA factor) along with the folding kit and did the coding at our shop. It's not a job that I would trust to a random dealer, but I must say it's impressive once done.

I am the opposite. I like the sunroof to open like that. I need the extra headroom being tall. A sliding roof will eat more than an inch of headroom space which does not work for me at all.

I think Honda do it right and I never have any issue or any damage with that sunroof for over 15 years. But the traditional sunroof from my BMW was broken 4 times(exploded, de-rail, motor broken) in the past 10 years!

You think prelude discounted because of the sunroof? then how about DC5? it is also using that design. Accord coupe is design and build by US and Honda japan is only import a few of them. And it is the same platform as Accord sedan, I don't think they will use 2 different sunroof system between sedan & coupe!

It will be interesting to see what road Audi takes with the B9 5 since they already have this design on the A3

Haha that might not go as well as expected. I got lucky with mine, as she might care more about her car than I do mine, but not all people are like that.

To OP, it just comes down to "is the juice worth the squeeze?"

of course not.. i'm saying why the changed the design after the prelude went to the accord coupe
as I said Accord & prelude & integra are all in different platform. After prelude discontinued, integra is still keep using that design. And Accord was using the same sunroof design since CA (1986). Different team has their own preference on sunroof design.

fully understood what you said.. i'm merely clearing up the misconception of the prelude being discontinued for a sunroof theory as that's not what i meant

Switch the power mirror knob towards the right side. Mirror will adjust down when in reverse

Depending on options. IIRC if you have a Premium or a P+ that doesn't have the seat memory presets on the door panel, you won't have this feature.

This is what mine does.... I also didn't realize that the folding rear seats were an option. I have them, I thought they where standard on all of the a4's..
