    Question about engine Oil

This is kind of an unusual question....

I have been ordering the Pentosin High Performance II 5W-40 from amazon for a couple of years now for my 2006 Audi A3 2.0t FSI.

Today I received the oil but in a different packaging...

    ----------

and this is what I was getting before....

I am worried if this could be the old inventory that they were trying to get rid of....that is 7+ years old on shelf? Do I need to worry about if the oil is old...? and will it hurt my engine? Should I just return it?

or this could be the new packaging...?

Fist time post here... Any feed back is appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the site. Probably new packaging - it looks a bit more flashy. What makes you think it is 7 years old?

    Just a wild guess....
I googled and saw a post was posted back in 2008 with the red and green packaging says new formula.... so I assumed this was the one before that... but I think you are right about it being the new packaging...

Like the old bottle better. Can't beat any good synthetic oil so no worries
