Cutting up rain try and shortening ecu box

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I recently made clearances in my rain trains so my upper control arms would stop hitting the tops of the wheel wells I boxed them in and capped them off but now my already shortened ecu isn't short enough and I don't know what else to do and I just want to be able to drive my car all the time and not have to worry about when it rains. Has anyone ever taken more out of the middle of the box? Or maybe even relocated the ecu all together?

Are you referring to chopping plastic out of your ECU box, plastic welding the top back to the bottom, so it's shallower than stock?

Yes i already shortened the front of the box but it's still not enough I was wondering if anyone has ever taken any material out of the middle to shorten it more

I think you should post some pictures, so everyone's clear as to your intentions.

Contact Needinganaudi, he did this and it looked really clean. He might have even been selling some modified boxes at one point, I cant remember.

A place between here and there

Being static that low is a style that puzzles me. Bags, I understand. People have been cutting up that area for years when wanting to be that low. I have yet to see someone weld in a supporting brace for the compromise they just placed in that area of the car. Of course you need function for form, but at least be safe doing so. Just something that has floated in my mind first time I seen that done by someone.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

Seerlah, I would love to see one of these super-low cars that require modification to prevent the control arms from hitting be done nicely. It would be cool to see someone cut out the area but then make a filler to go back in but raised up and smoothly so it looked as if it was meant to be that way. Or hammer and dolly a raised portion for that area. Food for thought.
