Those with KW HAS, how low did you go?

Anyone have KW HAS and could share pics and their FTG measurement? I'm getting them installed this week and was hoping to see some options/hear some feed back.

Is there a lot of bounce when they're all the way down?

    Thanks!

My shop did an alignment at the time.

They left some rake in the car.....not sure if I want to keep it or not.

I think I'll do both too. Did you drop all the way?

I did not. I didn't want it all the way down. I told them 1.25" or so off each wheel.

It ended up 3 fingers off the rear wheel and 2 fingers off the front wheel. Still better than before. But I may go lower.

You'll go lower :P And thankfully, you have that option. Keep a bit of rake

I did not align for nearly 1k miles. I suggest a couple hundred miles.

I ended up going 30.5" FTG. I'm going to let things settle for 800-1000 miles and then align and put on the 034 endlinks, brace, and (hopefully) rear sway.

Camber seems to be ok, but I'm going to watch the tire wear.

Being lower and having 295s on all 4 corners makes such a huge difference.

Wheel and tire specs? I'm looking to go 21x10 and will be having my HAS installed in two weeks. Thanks.

Russ, would you mind sharing vendor/contact info? I'm still deciding on hardware, but I'm very interested in speaking with reputable installers. At the same time, now that it's been nearly a month, what are your thoughts on ride quality? Any bounce from the shorter springs and stock shocks? Honestly, that's a concern. On my '13 I installed H&R's very early - roughly 2k miles on the clock. Everything seemed great until about 28k-ish miles, when the nasty rebound snuck into the equation. Thanks in advance....

I'm 20x10 with 295s. there about 4.5% smaller than the stock 21" in height.

I'll PM you. I am pretty happy with the install. I think the stock struts wear faster with the shorter springs. I'm also all the way down on the HAS, so that's adding to the bounce I think.

I'm hoping the fact the stock sways are no longer under full load now that i've got the adjustable endlinks helps with the bounce. In all honesty, I'm really looking forward to doing a full KW V2 set up. Unfortunately I've got limited funds and unlimited wants. such is life i guess.

I have 22" summer wheels on now with the KWs set to 2 fingers above each tire.

Took a long road trip and on non-smooth roads you can really feel it to the point it is annoying. On smoother highways, just a little bit harsher than stock but tolerable and ok trade off to get rid of the 4x4 look.

Might have to go up a finger to get rid of the long distance bouncing.

I just had mine installed last Friday and I was hoping to down to about 1 finger gap. During the install, the shop told me that there was a fit issue and they had to machine one of the parts to make it fit and charge me 1 1/2 hour labor charge. When I picked up the car, they told me that for some reason they set it to the lowest setting and there still is about 2 inch gap in the front and about 1 1/2 gap in the back. It's better than stock but I was hoping for a more drop. The shop told me that it may go down a little more when the springs settle but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. The shop also did APR stage 2 upgrade and that turned out great. I don't know what I should do about the springs. Should I take it to another shop and see if the springs are installed properly? I currently have 20" stock wheels and planning on upgrading to 22". If I go with slightly over sized tires, will that help fill out the gap? If so, what tire size should I go with? Thanks in advance.

Jerry- I should quote your spring comments about what you did on your Q because that pretty much says it how it is. If you go lower and they are soft springs you'll bottom out, so they have to be stiffer and that = bouncier. Imola wagon put the B8 bilsteins all around on his - He is close to you (I think). I put those same shocks on the rear of mine, euro springs. Plenty of us around the bay area for you to test drive and sample the choices. Your more than welcome to try mine if you like, as well I'd be happy to help you install your springs/shock/struts or do it for you.

Remember everything is a tradeoff - lower rides stiffer but looks 100% cooler, 20's ride softer than 21's. the right coilover set might be the best option, but I would need to drive them first to 'agree' that it rides better.

I'm thinking bags is the most plush option especially since I just drove a cayenne again after doing some repairs to it. It just might be worth it for looks and ride quality- best of both worlds.
