    Servotronic valve on the rack

So I'm getting a new rack installed on my car. Turns out I blew more then just a pump. I don't know how since I turned the car off after I blew the pump, and now the tech wants to install a new rack as well. He calls me a few days into the project and tells me that the valve was not included with the new rack. And that it would be around 200 for the valve only. I was under the influence that you just transfer the valve from one rack to the other. Is it nessesary to buy a new valve or can I just use my old one? Thanks boys

I'm fairly sure it's just a simple swap of the solenoid. As far as the rack goes, if the pump blew 100% there were metal particles already in the lines of the rack. The rack might be fine after a flush but I can understand why he would want to replace it.
