Looking to swap coils and plugs
Found this kit, but am wondering if "all" red coil packs are the same.
And are these the same as what is called "r8" coil packs?

    Any info is appreciated

If your looking for replacement coils, those are the way to go. They are real r8 coils, the part numbers match. They appear to be used in both the 4.2L V8 and 5.2L V10 engines.

I thought "real" R8 coils were Okada Plasmas?

Check out post #30. The comparison to other coil packs was done by HS Tuning. From what I've researched, they have the best pricing on real deal R8 coil packs. I've run them on every Audi I've owned without issue. With them installed, I was able to run a slightly larger plug gap from normal and smoother idle.

The coils in the ECS link that fits our 2.0 are the R8 coils, part numbers match. They do make red top coils for other engines like VW's old 1.8L, and 2.0L; they appear to be shorter. Or u can run the Longer R8 coils with an adapter space that comes with the kit. I tried to match the Audi TT coils but couldn't find the part number. The 3.0 V6's and new 4.0t use completely different coils with a different design. I am not sure about the B9 A4.

Audi's online parts directory. You can look up part numbers for almost any part for most audi's.

    valid question OP....

genuineaudiparts.com is a good place to compare part numbers to ensure they match up (just for future reference).

It's most common during coil pack replacement to use the grease provided around the lower seal on coil pack before install correct?
