    10' A4 B8 SLine Lowering onto 19" OEM Peelers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi there,

Im wanting to essentially lower my b8 on 19" peelers, lowered enough to look sporty but not impractical. Ive been looking at H&R sport springs and 19" peelers for a while now but i just want to double check one last time before i jump in.

Would 30mm H&R sport springs on 19" peelers but a good combination? Could someone throw some pictures up to show me good examples if possible, I've looked through the wheel thread already but I'm really just doubling checking I'm ordering everything correctly. I could just put 19" peelers straight on with my S Line springs but i want it that fractional bit lowered further to get rid of the gap.

With this setup would spacers say 10mm make a huge difference to the way it sits also?

    Many thanks!

I installed H&R's OE Sport Springs and Rear Sway Bar last fall on my S4. Could not be happier with the look and handling.

Check out my build thread. Basically what you are looking for, just have the rotor wheels instead of peelers.

Have you used any spacers on that setup?

Depending on what offset of peelers you get, you may not need spacers. Replicas exist in a 19x8.5 ET35 fitment, which sits essentially flush without resorting to spacers. OE (for the A4, at least) is 19x8.5 ET47. S5 peelers are ET33 and I think they're wider, as well; @goreckless has a set on his car and they sit perfectly.

Yeah the replicas that are available here in the UK are 19x8.5 ET35, I'm not 100% sure if the quality are any good though

What drop in the springs did you have for that? 35mm or 40mm? Theres a few different size of the sport springs over here in the uk and not too sure which will be best?

Part numbers might help you. I installed the "OE Sport Springs" part number 50361-55 giving a 1.2" drop. The "Sport Springs" part number 50361 gives a 1.5" drop.

Did you upgrade anything else on the suspension or keep stock, i.e. shocks?

You should have no problem getting 19s under that setup. Watch out for your shocks, though, if you haven't matched them to the springs. They likely won't last too long. This has nothing to do with what wheels you're running, though.

Quick update! Picked up some used replica 19" peelers up today, a women listed them on eBay late last night and i went to collect them early this morning with practically new tires on for £300 absolute steal! Soon as i got them i gave them a clean, now I'm just trying to decide on what spacers and springs to get :/

They are 19 x 8.5 ET45 with 255,35,19 tires on. I understand the more flush fit tends to be ET35 so if i put a 10mm spacer back and front would this work out pretty much flush?

Also here in the uk theres no h&r oem springs, there's only 30mm all round drop or 40mm all round drop I'm not too sure which would be better, after searching the wheel thread once again i can't find anyone with the same wheel & tire setup as me.

I run 19x9 et33 and am pretty flush. If you add a 10mm spacer to your 19x8.5 et45, you will still be 8mm away from being flush. To be perfectly flush, you may want to go 20mm spacers all the way around. That would put you at 2mm beyond my current set up.

Check out this offset calculator and play around with the numbers to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the link! I sometimes use it for business and tend to have tools in the back so i don't really want rubbing issues at all and its a worry with my big tires, i want reliability and decent sporty look, i might just play it safe and aim for ET35

I once ran et35 peeler replicas and they looked pretty flush as well.

After finally learning that over here in the uk h&r don't supply oe sport springs their closest thing to it is just a sport spring with a 30mm drop, also managed to 2 sets of 10mm h&r spacers for the front and back. So with my ET45 alloys ill be ET35 so a bit more on a better with fitment.

Would you guys go for slightly longer lug nuts to go with my spacers or will my standard ones be classed as "safe" ?

When everything arrives in the post my next step is RS grill (with black sprayed slam panel as my a4's silver) I'm gathering everything together then putting it all on over next weekend when the weathers better here, ill upload pics soon!

Also any tips or what to look out for?
