My take on the new 2017 A4

Got to sit in a premium + version, $48800! The display on the dash is tacky and cut off your vision in the center of the dash. The shifter is electronic and is diminutive. Th controls for the MMI are in front of the shifter. As are the cup holders. The start /stop button is tucked into the far left corner on the console, just ahead of the left cup holder . The center console storage is very small , as it is not deep . I do like that there are now USB CONNECTORS ,2 of them.

The worse part is the instrument cluster is a projection. The tack and speedo are much smaller than our cars have. When you project the nav screen on to the cluster, the tach and speedo get much much smaller than in normal non nav mode .
The projected needles are red for both tach and speedo. They are very thin and just a line, not resembling the pointers on our cars which are true needles which a fatter portion going down to a slimmer point. No grey large gauge that b 8.5 have for both speedo & tach. I could not ascertain is digital speed is projected in between the tach & speedo.

I did not see a key slot for the advanced key. Possibly the S 4 will have a different set up. Dealer has no idea when b9 version of S4 will come.expect a much higher price for new S4.

In my B8, I ignore the analog speedo for the digit display, because I process it quicker. The tach is vital for the manual trans, but I've never really needed one in my automatic cars. The new Audis are all automatics, so I would probably just do a Subaru Legacy, if I can't get a manual anymore. (and keep my B8 for weekends!)
