Audi will make b 8.5 s5 coupe for another model year 2017. You can still order it with MT ,6 speed. Just got that word from my dealer. Prices for new b9 S4 will be very high. I looked at 2017 A4 premium + , well equipped . It had a sticker price of $48800! The prestige will be even more! Getting very close to discounted price of $53430 I paid for my 2015 !

Meh already had a B8.5 S5. It was nice, but I like my S4 better due to it having 4 doors.

Not speaking for the majority of S4 owners, but it's fair to say we are on a wait and see what the RS3 and RS4 models will look like in 2018-2019. As a 2016 S4 owner, I for one will skip the B9 S4 and go straight to an RS3/4 model assuming they bring it here (priced competitively). When the time comes, will definitely cross shop with incoming model F80 M3/M4, if not it's P-Car time.

When I was shopping for cars I tried both, S5 and S4. I have no children so number of doors was not a factor. I actually liked the ride of the S4 better than the S5. The doors on the S5 are also very long and getting in and out in some spaces can be a bit tight. I am happy I went with the S4. That being said I see an RS5 around me every now and then and it has me tempted.

Photo does not show anything beyond Jan-Dec 2017 and general line up for 2018. Everything beyond 2018 is just speculation, hence we are on a wait and see for what's in store for 2018-2019.

If it's 48,000$ US, I just can't imagine what il would be in CDN $ ???
And on top of that what the S4 price would be here in Canada ?

I still wish they offer the option for 6mt in the RS3/S3 models. For that size it would be a blast to drive. Take notes from BMW on their M2 model

I'm sure the B9 S4 pricing will go up... north of 60k...
This is my last S4... I love it and will hold it a long while longer and add to the stable a mid engine rear drive roadster... If I go B9 it would need to be RS4... but not holding breath...

It will be ~52-53 MSRP. Even that is quite a large increase as S4 prices have been pretty steady for the past 10 years. MSRP has always been right around ~$46k upon release, going back to 2004. Then the prices slowly rise a bit as more features are added as standard each year, but then "reset" when the new model is released.

Pretty weird with the Euro being down too, we should be seeing savings. But there is too much demand at the moment so manufacturers are just pocketing the extra cash.

No Cayman for me anytime soon, unless an infant seat can be attached to a roof rack!

I still might go F80 M3 (not holding my breath for RS4), but the more I think about, the more I would rather do legit sports car & another car/SUV for my wife.

I'd agree in that range for the base model. I think I paid 58k all said and done for mine new...

I actually passed on an RS5 for the S4. Call me crazy but I have a kid and the 4 doors rule.

I have no regrets with the S4. I'd only get in trouble with that much more power anyway.

$48k's not actually "high" though for a new A4, if well equipped. Forget what special deals you can get for a car that's nearing the end of it's production run. What you are describing is MSRP. So if you check on something like a 2016 BMW 328XI (A4 competitor), it's actually priced right around $48k, depending on options.

I paid $57.5k for my 2014 S5 in 10/2013 and it was a battle to get any dealer from DC to Boston to go below $1k off of MSRP at that time. So I drove literally 2hrs to NJ to get my car because I could get it 7% off MSRP ($61.5). It's all timing and market conditions.

When the new B9s hit, people may get breaks from Audi Corp for ACCA, Supplier and Loyalty but I wouldn't expect any dealers to give you a dime off of MSRP in CT, esp on an S4. They won't have much trouble selling them at MSRP. Give it a year and the leftover 2017s in September 2017 when the 2018s start to arrive you may get a few bucks off.

I wouldn't expect the A4/S4 pricing to be much more than about a few hundred $ over a B8.5 MSRP as Audi still has to complete against BMW and others. The A4 is particular is getting heavily mugged by the q5 in sales. If Audi raised it's MSRP substantially no one would buy it and they are well aware of that.
