    A6 Oil Dipstick Hole

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I want to change the oil on my 2012 A6 3.0. I want to extract the oil from the oil dipstick hole. I do not have a dipstick. I saw an Audi dealer extracting oil by doing this, but I was not up close. Dealer safety rules.

I found a few answers, on the internet, for its location but the answers were incorrect for my car. The consensus of opinion is that the dipstick hole is on the drivers side, towards the front of the engine near the valve cover and the hole is covered with a plastic cap.

I took the engine covers off and looked all over the engine for a long time but could not find it. Any help?

You'll have to post this in the C7 section. This section is for A6 produced from 2005-2011.

Just FYI, the C7s did away with dipsticks. I am not sure if there is a plug where the dipstick should go but your car doesn't have one.

Your car has a dipstick tube. There is a black cap on the tube. The car does not come with a dipstick but one can be ordered from the dealer or a place like ECS. I think it's roughly $25. I just got one for my C7.

They expect everyone to use the oil level screen on the MMI.

Just make sure you give it 2-5 minutes to update in the mmi or you'll have way too much oil in your engine!
